When I stay at the Sofitel I always take a walk across the Da Ming lake. I walk around the canal that encircles the inner city and then return through the carefully maintained original humongous village. Very rewarding.

So so so gorgeous and full of history. Many famous poems are of this lake. Definitely a must see. Take the boat rides, they are very fun.

West side of the lake is entry against payment which is a bit overpriced in my opinion. West side has a small theme park which is nothing special but the gardens are good. East side of the lake is for free and definately worth walking around, The tower and the landscape is beautiful. Also there is a small bar with... More

A bit crowded, but we still had fun. It is a great place for people watching, as well as for people to watch you. Took lots of pictures with local folks.

Rental boats, speed boat rides, some history, a small amusement park with a roller coaster. Lots to see and do. You can spend most of a day if you take your time. Beautiful for a quiet walk at night. (the attractions are closed, but entrance is free)

Great visit to this lake - we went a little late post sunset, so missed the sights. But even after sunset, the place was very calm. There were lots of people walking around by the lakeside. There is even a restaurant inside where you can possibly have a meal. Worth visiting.

I went to Daming Lake last weekend with my husband. Because the blossom time is almost near the end. Walking along the broad lake, my heart is quite relaxed. I took pictures of few lotus too. They are unique.
