Didn't go inside the Daming Lake but the side road on the left hand side of the entrance. The view also very nice for free.

Jinan can be a bit hectic at times and while there I was craving a bit of greenery. This lakeside walk was a welcome relief after a day in the city and though I find it odd to pay to see a park, it was well worth the marginal cost. There are lovely shaded spots to people watch - a... More

I spent the afternoon enjoying the many walkways, buildings and gardens in this lovely park. There were many vendors selling a variety of items and foods. In one building there was an art exhibit, in another locally made crafts were being sold and in yet another you could have afternoon Chinese tea. The park trees, shrubs and flowers are well... More

Had always wanted to see this lake after watch the Taiwan and China Drama of the Return of the Princess. Very nice place to view sunset and it is a very peaceful place with some famous temple and statues around it.

I had been to Summer Palace and the scenery here at Daming Lake resembles to a certain extent that of Summer Palace with her many pavilions, the arch bridges, the willow trees, the red lanterns, the pagodas and the bonsai garden landscape. I stayed at a hotel just beside the Wulongtan Park and the lake is located just north of... More

We took the boat ride around old city and included Da Ming Lake. You can take the whole day if you stop at each spot along the way! I would bring a picnic lunch as I didn't see much more than snacks as we walked around. This is definitely a day trip if you don't want to rush. Bathrooms are... More

We were guided by my daughter-in-law and she was filling us in on much of the history of the lake which added to our enjoyment. We did a boat ride to a little island, which was pleasant. There are numerous photo ops while visiting Daming Lake. It's very colorful and lively. We were there during a very busy weekend in... More

When I stay at the Sofitel I always take a walk across the Da Ming lake. I walk around the canal that encircles the inner city and then return through the carefully maintained original humongous village. Very rewarding.

So so so gorgeous and full of history. Many famous poems are of this lake. Definitely a must see. Take the boat rides, they are very fun.
