It is a principle I travel by. When you end up in a new place - find a park and spend time there. This is where you find the spirit of the town or city. How the citizens treat their parks will tell you who they are. I go to Shenyang regularly on business. I specifically stay at a hotel... More

I used to live nearby and I cycled to out to Bird Island every day in the summer. Nice paved path with relatively few cars and decent scenery (for Shenyang). If you're a cyclist, this is THE path you want. Speeds bumps are annoying, stay alert. The path actually goes through several different parks along the river, which are often... More

Wulihe is a great spot to have a picnic, with lots of trees and the river itself. You can also stroll or ride a bike for 2 hours to reach the other end of the park. In the centre of the park you will see a huge bridge that looks like a heart. There are also street sport equipments. A... More

I loved walking through the park to enjoy nature in the middle of the city. Peaceful and quiet most days, with only a few joggers, cyclist and fisherman on the riverside.

Wuli park is a nice green park with pathways for jogging and cycling beside the river. In Spring and summer is has beautiful flowers. Early morning you will see locals doing exercise or Tai Chi but most of the day there is hardly anyone there so it is quiet and peaceful which is a rarity in China. You can take... More

This so called park is just the riverside with some streets making it perfect for an early morning jog or bike ride. No especially nice scenery nor any other remarkable features. Gets very hot in summer in the daytime so I would recommend going there early. Not suited for children as there is nothing of interest to them.

The Park is not far from Northern Eastern University. Every morning you can find many old chinese doing sports or taiqi near the river. There is a long cycling road. There is no beach. River is dirty.

Best kept secret in Shenyang. A beautiful park along the river with a paved road; walking path; toilets and real trees and grass. You can go for 50 KMS along the river. Very nice and safe. Did I mention it is FREE!!!

This place is really a haven for runners. We live near it and take walks there. It's a great place to feel like you're not living in a city of 8 million. If you like to bike with kids or run then consider a visit. The east end of the park can be easily accessed via subway line 2.
