See it at night and during the day (and during Chinese New Year too) for all its different personalities.
Great open area for when looking for a safe place to clock up some running miles, just remember a face mask as at times the air quality is not so good.
Xinghai Square is a beautiful addition to an amazing city. It evokes a bold statement of confidence of the new China. See it before you die. There is much to see and enjoy here. Allow at least a full morning or afternoon. Not to be rushed.

Not very much shade to hide under, but mostly clean. Many places to buy snacks, drinks, food. Good place to hang out with friends for bbq! Lots of overpriced souvenirs for sale everywhere.

My wife and I visited Xinghai Square in Early June for the Dragon Boat Festival. The park by the sea, the amusement park nearby were amazing! There are car dealerships with nice autos to see and the ATMs are near here. Enjoy your trip!
Great for taking photos. Should have gone there at night. The high buildings surrounding the park made this place very unique. There is a Fun Fair nearby for children. The seaside is also very near.
Well, what to say? Another nice, large and open square in China. Of course this one is very close to the sea, which on a good day makes it nicer then many others. However there is a small amusement park nearby, way overpriced for all the tourists that come there. If you are eating in the area, its worth while... More
Came on a Saturday afternoon in May. The square was covered by mist and hence visibility was very poor. We could hardly see the sea. Do we are unable to share positive comments other than a few items like the Centenary monument with footprints that we were able to see at close range.
