Suzhou. Beautiful little city built 2,500 years ago. Chinese call it Venice of the north. I took a boat ride through these little canals. Traditional Chinese architecture at its best. The famous gardens were a delight swell. This is how I imaged china to be and I wasnt disappointed. Don't forget you'r camera.

Since Suzhou had once been called the Venice of the East, we had to try to find out why. Definitely worthwhile when visiting Suzhou but I found the canal tour to be too short and it only went through the wide part of the canal. Good views of the city wall but I expected to see the narrow canals.

It is a must!!1We took a ride on the canal on a dragon boat and it reminded us of Venice. Lots of beautiful colonial homes line the canals. The city itself is also calm after a busy tour in Shanghai.
