Must See When In Wuhan

Beautiful serene walk along the lake and through forests with temples and happy, joyous people spending time with their family.

Do you like the sight and smell of dead fish? Do you like watching old people spit? Do you like to see polluted water choking out the life of aquatic animals? How about trash and litter strewn about in a way that resembles a landfill? Then this is definitely where you want to go. Spitting, dead fish, bad smells, all... More

We got a nice drive around the lake on our way to the botanical gardens, which we never made it to, due to some obstruction in the road, maybe accident, but along the way there and back it was very beautiful, would be nice, but I imagine even more crowded, in the spring and summer.

It is ok... not great. If you are in Wuhan, have a look. If you are not in Wuhan, don't go for this.

Sometimes you feel like your body needs cleansing from the hubbub of city life, the East Lake is the place to do this. We paid to enter the East Lake Scenic Area and then took a golf buggy style ride around the main sites. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule as part of an organised trip and did not... More

East Lake in Wuhan is huge. I believe it's one of the biggest lakes in China, and you can tell. It's very peaceful, at least in January, and you can take hours to walk around the area. There is a beach area and an area that is buoyed off if you would like to swim in the lake. I did... More

It is a beautiful park with a wide variety of scenery - bustling with people. Lots of weddings, families with kids, bikes and picnics. The park is huge so anyone can find a nice place to unwind and relax. Very enjoyable!

The eastern lakes are a popular tourist location as well as for local people. Lots of good walks and also it is great to go on the boats across the lakes. If you go in winter it is very atmospheric as the mist hovers over the water. You'll get lots of good pictures here and there are some historical statues... More

This park was just what we needed. I live and work in Wuhan which means that sometimes I forget to get away and enjoy nature. This park is a perfect little getaway that allowed us to forget that we live in a growing industrial city. We spent hours walking around and enjoy the views. I would love to go back... More

East Lake is a scenic, pretty area in an otherwise (somewhat) lackluster city (from my experience). It was picturesque, and we enjoyed walking the paths and taking in the views -- just be careful of the careening mega-golf carts!
