This is not the Zhengzhou (City) Museum. The title picture is the Henan Provincial Museum on Nongye Lu (Road) which I have already reviewed under that title. The Zhengzhou Museum is a different museum and is located on Songshan Lu to the west of the Railway Station in the old government quarter. The artifacts pictured here are from the Henan... More

The main exhibition area is closed for renovations. According to our guide, only a small hall is open. So we decided to skip it. It's a great disappointment for us as we were so looking forward to visit.

At first glance the architecture of the museum is great , interior design is very good too . I few minute you can learn and see a long history of china .there are also some master pieces ,needs especial attention.

And it's free! Henan has quite a few ancient capitals (4 out of 7?), so lots of real archelogical jewels to see.

This was a very good museum. The Chinese are very proud of their heritage. We had an English speaking guide who was very informative.

Highly recommended. It gives you a good impression of some of the older instruments. It takes about 30 min and they seem to run it several times a day. There is an extra ticket you buy at the entrance to the theater for 10 RMB

We had a superb English-speaking guide, Ms. Wang, during our intensive tour of this museum. She was extremely knowlagable about, not only the exhibits, but also the development of bronze and porcelain. The museum is large, but a show with traditional Chinese musical instruments at 11 a.m. allows for rest and enjoyment. We spent the entire day slowly going through... More
