The building of the museum is nice and original. Inside, there are plenty of interesting exhibits. And everything is written both in Chinese and in English, which is great. And the entrance is free. Unfortunately, quite far away from the subway.

Excellent exhibits on Chinese history and culture showcasing many of the archaeological finds from Henan province, the birthplace of Chinese culture. The building in itself is remarkable. If you can time your visit just right, there is a concert featuring Chinese folk instruments that is enjoyable. Admission is free but passports must be shown to get the tickets.

Henan has 3 of the 7 ancient capitals of China so they have many treasures from all dynasties. It's a nice building shaped like a pyramid. They have a ancient music performance that you need to pay extra to get in but worthy.

Looks really cool from outside. And inside it is surprisingly big and clean. There are good things to see from the Shang dynasty. Recommendable.

I briefly saw the African weapons exhibit. The exhibit was nicely laid out so I am going to guess that the rest of the museum would be the same . I didnt get to explore all of the museum as it was for a class field trip with my students for a pre-planned activity

This is hands down one of the better museums that I have been through in China. It is logically organized in chronological fashion, and the English translations are very well done and best of all, make sense. Recommended for anyone interested in Chinese history.

Worth spending an hour or two at because it is free for one and has some incredibly old objects also. Bypass the ATM style ticket machines at the entrance and show you passport at the window round the corner of the building at the entrance. Make sure you see the oracle bones with examples of early Chinese character and Han... More

This is a bit of a gem compared to the rest of this rather glib city - well laid out, super English translations, well air conditioned, interesting AND free to boot. If you do just one thing in Zhengzhou (and to be honest, there’s not much else to do), spend an hour or two here.

Very instructive, english signs everywhere. Pleasant experience in an interesting building. As said before: free entry - need passport (you don't need to line up at the regular ticket booth, go to the left, there is a special ticket booth at the side - just show your passport,

Unimpressive for a provincial museum. Mainly pottery. No mummies or dinosaur bones here! Free entry. You need to have your passport with you to enter.
