Very low or nome tourism standard. From airport till Phoenix islandese it is an open construction site. Chaotic noisy Smoky polluted and Dusty. The long stretch of beach from the sky looks charming bit once you step on it you must be careful on what you must fine under your foot. Chances are you may find animal or human faeces,... More

I prefer this bay compared to the others, first because it's quite easy to go there from the city center, either by taxi or bus and near, it's long and without too many people. In the evening, some bbq suddently arrive and disappear in the middle of the night. Many bigs hotels have their private beach, you only to cross... More

Heading from airport to down town where I stayed is about 14 km journey all the way is a long stretch of coastline beach with many coconut trees, wide beach walkway and nice landscaping Sanya bay is already very much developed, most of the high rise hotels and service apartments are concentrated the along the beach road and many small scale hotels... This beach is nearer the city centre. Sand is pretty ok. Waves are usually quite moderate. Main problem here is that there are plenty of all kind of rubbish in the sea. Also beach is littered with plastic bags and empty bottles. In my view this is not a pleasant beach. Yalong bay is ten times better.

The water stinks, the sand is like mud, the beach is along a busy road which is currently just one big construction site, not somewhere to come for a beach and certainly wouldn't want to eat 'local seafood' that's coming out of that sea. If you expect the 'Hawaii of the east' you will be bitterly disappointed, not worth making... More

Sanya Bay has a long stretch of coastline and it's very quiet most of the time (apart from at night when there are old people dancing to music blasted out from speakers). It's a nice place to tan, go running, pick up shells, and have a quiet conversation. Due to the dirty seawater I wouldn't rate it as very good,... More

This beach was my home base for the 14 days here. I was staying in apartments near Sheraton Four Points Hotel and just a couple of hundred metres to the beach. I have loved my morning runs along the beach when the tide would let me. I think it is fantastic to see all the dancing and music activity on... More
