The early morning in Sanya bay is an oasis place to have a walk on the beach coast, where you can hear the light breeze stroke between the rustling coconut trees. The sky slightly brighten up as you will see the red and yellow sun raising from northeast of the island by painting the sky with enchanting colored glow. The... More

Calm beaches, good for children or nervous swimmers, but pretty busy. All along the beaches are people selling fruits, foods, jewellery, beach toys, so you can easily spend a day just relaxing. If you can speak a little Chinese and you seek out the places the locals eat, the value for money isn't too bad. It's also good to get... More

I have been in hainan a few years: it is the most expensive place of China, people are very closed minded, they give western people double price in everything and dont speak any language, nature, can find better in all South Asia at lower prices with better people. Sanya has no beauty, dirty sea full of old ships, nothing in... More

absolutely great beaches, close to the city, and numerous hotels, if you like quiet uncluttered beaches, in a perfect climate, then this is the place to visit.

Sanya in China would have to be the worst place I have ever visited, the service at the retail outlets is shocking, no one speaks English not even a minute amount that would be required in a so called tourist destination, especially taxi drivers, The place is dirty and has nothing appealing to even want to visit, it is about... The beach was nice and clean and the waves were no too big, water was warm and it was really nice to walk on a beach and go swimming in the night. There were not much activities going on in the beach near our hotel but lot of opportunities for diving and other activities in nearby islands (also on Boundary... More

Take an easy trip out of Hong Kong to Sanya in the Hainan Province of China. The flight is an easy hour and a half, and 4 & 5 star International Hotels are about 45 minutes by taxi. This is a great beach, with plenty of aqua activities and certainly worth a relaxing stay.
