Everything is lower than the average in south east Asia.....the worse : people. Hainan people are very rude, ignorant, they do not know the difference between right and left side! No one speaking other languages...and the Government want it to be international! Sea water dirty, prices high, golf prices the worst in this world....nature is nice but inferior to other... More

This trip was a rewarding trip for me and my wife. I arrived this holy place in the late afternoon with a little rain. Stay at the nearby hotel. The vegetarian dinner was very good. You have to wake up very early in the morning before dawn to queue for "Hold the Buddha's Foot" parade. I came with a peaceful... More

This info is for coach holidays in Hainan/China generaly. Do not go on them. They stick to very tight time scales. You do not get to choose where you go. The places you mainly go, are to places where you are encouraged to buy items. The courier is on a back hander from the venues attended. You do not have... More

Nestled in the Coconut Forest Bay near Wenchang City, this is a centre of peace and healing. I was part of a group that enjoyed a 2 week retreat with an intensive training programme in Zhineng Chi Gong. Other residents were people who had come for healing, some of whom had stayed for up to 6 months after their problems... More

I like the food and the fast express train from Haikou airport to all the major towns. The scenery is like Malaysia and Singapore where you can see Coconut, rubber trees and padi(rice) fields.

After the big cities on the China mainland, Hainan was a refreshing change of pace. Haikou (city in the north) had a laid back atmosphere and lots of street food open to late at night. Sanya (in the south) was more of a tourist resort with nice beaches. We also took a trip to Wuzhishan in the middle of the... More

Palm trees, surfing, beautiful beaches, warm ocean and more, all of this in China believe it or not. I came here to cover a surf event and I could not believe my eyes when we got to Wanning and Riyuebay. Hainan is the southernmost part of China so the legend goes that this place was Tianya Haijiao "the furthermost part... More
