I went there during night time so my experience might be different from those who went during the day. Some of the pictures I took turned out too bright due to the lightings and if you look at the water closely it is quite dirty.

We went there because we thought that it was an impressive monument, but it is not really breathtaking. It is too small and it is far from the photo zone. Just go if you have not other thing to do in Zhuhai.

This statue is a 'must see' in Zhuhai. Come here for the seaside views and nice stroll on Lovers Road. The statue is small and crowded. It is a symbol of Zhuhai though so see it once if you can.

To enjoy seeing this wonderful statue, I believe you have to be more a culture and history person, than someone who wants to give the "peace sign" while using your selfie stick. Zhuhai is an old fishing village. Go to the old Tangjia markets just up the road.... It is a suburb of Zhuhai and has an older farmer and... More

What was great about this was the lighting - I visited at night and discovered the bright spotlights gave me a warm tone as I was photographed posing in front of the statue. I'm going to use this photo as my new Facebook profile picture.

Since we stopped by the park across the street we walked over - kind of interesting but not for all the right reasons. Bus after bus pulling up with tons of tourists acting like they had never seen a statue, fake Mickey Mouse standing around for photos, hazy pollution in the background and across the bay to the high rise... I picked the best day to see the statue. It was sunny and in the 60s. I took an our and a half walk from my hotel. They I had problem catching a taxi back. There were loads of tourist coming here on buses. There was really nothing around the area. I would suggest to arrange a hiking tour along... More

It's just a statue. No real historical significance (oh, yes, sure, there's a story... ) If you're the kind of tourist who wants 10,000 pictures that 'prove' you visited places that are 'famous', then ignore the 1-star review, give it 4 more, and go! If you want at least some history or culture to go with your piece of concrete,... More

Balancing a camera, an umbrella and jostling with other tourists in a small viewing area is not only precarious but also takes the fun of visiting this lovely landmark. The steps to a viewing platform on the right hand side is not well built and dangerously steep.

Take bus 9 or 99 along the coast with a Bus stop nearby. Good view of the Bay from Macao to the south-east.
