Great in cooler months to visit !!

This beach is a gem to visit in the cooler months when it is still okay and not to cold to swim . During summer it is a hive of activity and seriously busy and crowded... read more

Absolute crap, the sand is like it has been dumped from a building site. Never consider going here on public holidays, public transport is impossible and the beach is so crowded. From the main promenade walk away from the crowd to the west. Plenty of entertainment watching the marriage ceremonies as they are photographed in the bushes, in the sea... More

Firstly the actual beach, meaning the sand part, is awesome. It is a perfectly straight stretch of sand that is about 80m wide and goes for about 2 km! The water itself is just ok, it's not exactly crystal clear, but the temperature is good. There are small waves, safe enough for small children. Now, the crowds, oh the crowds!... More

This beach is a gem to visit in the cooler months when it is still okay and not to cold to swim . During summer it is a hive of activity and seriously busy and crowded , especially at night . The beach is full until well after 1 am on these nights . You can hire tents and sleep... More

It was public holiday when I went to Dampish Beach so it was packed with loads of holiday makers! It was a pretty hot day so plenty of them were packing the beach area. Kinda of unusual for me was there is an entrance fee imposed if one wanted to access the beach. This is my first time having to... More

I have been to Dmeisha couple of times, each time with stay of almost 6 weeks. I attended several professional courses in ZTE University which is in a walking distance from the Dameisha beach. Most of the evening I spend in Dameisha. This is really a nice place where you can see lots of chinese locals having wonderful time in... More

On one of the warmest days in February, three of us hopped on a bus to Dameisha Beach during the new year's break. This was a free public beach where others charge a small fee. Locals also had the same idea and were everywhere visiting parks, malls, beaches, restaurants, during this break period. On this day, the beach was busy... More

Well folks if you are in Shenzhen and would like to visit Dameisha be aware of the timing of your visit - going there on May 1st is a significant challenge. The place is one of the beaches of Shenzhen municipal area but be warned - on a holiday it is packed with people...The beach itself is not that big... More

Up to 40,000 on a small beach...not many using the washroom facilities either...Hmm. Scary! Watch for thieves, garbage and spit! Thief stole cell phone from bag while on the beach. Off season better...Local seafood restaurants are fine. It's where people go who have never visited a beach before... Beaches further away from Shenzhen such as Xichong and Dapeng are much... More

Despite it's name, it's really not big at all. It's got a decent enough neighborhood around it, and the beach itself is certainly clean by Chinese standards, but still very small overall, and the giant statues are rather creepy as well. If you can't make it to any of the islands south of Shenzhen, however, it's the best you're going... More
