Despite it's name, it's really not big at all. It's got a decent enough neighborhood around it, and the beach itself is certainly clean by Chinese standards, but still very small overall, and the giant statues are rather creepy as well. If you can't make it to any of the islands south of Shenzhen, however, it's the best you're going... More

Not so much interesting but it was nice to get a breath of fresh air here. Especially a walk with wife and kid was nice.

This beach is extremely overcrowded and absolutely filthy. The water is filled with trash. There are much nicer beaches further east in dapeng, jinshawan and xichong for example. I would definitely recommend going there instead.

Visited there with some newly made chinese friend to hang out... Found it beautiful, neat & clean.... But it has not much water sports facility...which if make available can bring much more footfall... Well great place to spend time with some fun...

This is one of the nicest beaches in Shenzhen. There is a nice Sheraton hotel as well as other hotel properties located near this beach.

Never, ever swim at this beach. The crowds, the pollution in the water both made me very sick. If you head a further 1 hour past stinky beach then you will find Dongchong or Xichong beach. Clean beaches, less crowds and even some fun waves.

Don't take the time to go here. Yes, it's technically a beach but it is overcrowded and dirty. It is the first choice for many locals because it is the closest beach to the city proper. I'd say go to dapeng's beaches because they're slightly better, but not by much.

Funny beach because it is getting busy at night, because the locala do not want to catch sunburns ! Tens of thousands of people on the beach at night and few hundreds with the sunlight !

This place literally may have a million people on it during the summer. Bumper to bumper traffic with no parking, absolutely no space on the beach, toilet facilities that reek and couldn't be sanitized by a professional crew and noise that noise-canceling headphones would have trouble dealing with make this a place I will never go to again.

Yes, the beach is horribly crowded on the weekend (just surf for photos and you'll see wall-to-wall people), but going mid-week is like going to a different place altogether. We went on a Tuesday from 11 am - 3 pm and practically had the beach to ourselves, which is a totally different experience. And, of course, since there were so... More
