Comparing to Hangzhou West Lake, Huizhou West Lake is compact and delicate. Its lotus pond is so amazing beautiful. It is a peaceful and relaxing place to enjoy the sunset there. You can also have the chance to share the joyful gathering with thousand birds returning from their hard work in a day.

This was my first trip to China, and was for business. We stayed at the Kande hotel across from the West Lake, which was very nice. And had a free day to walk the West Lake area. It was very pretty, and I would recommend the walk around it.

I have not been to the West Lake for a long long time. My mother was from Huizhou so we used to visited this lake in the past. This year we went to see it again and were glad to see most of the facilities were renovated. Some bridges were renovated in 2012 and they were still doing work on... More

There are many entrances to West Lake, since West Lake is actually several lakes joined together by bridges. So before you go, you should take a look at the map and check their website to see what you would like to see. If you have not been to Suzhou you will quite enjoy this Chinese garden 惠州西湖丰渚园, at one of... More

We started out across from Kande International Hotel, close to Chao Jing Men (朝京门) on foot towards Dong Da Men (东大门)which seems to be the main entrance gate to where most of the action is happening. I noted that there is a bike trail going on the outer rim of the lake. No bikes are allowed after the Dong Da... More
