The University goes to the city center to the seaside. There are shops, banks, buildings and gardens. Amazing!

Okay ... to be fair, the grounds are well maintained and looks okay ... but it's just a university, and for practical purposes, there's nothing to do except walking around ... Why such a high ranking on TA?

Chinese and other people (westerners or whatever you call them/us) sometimes have a different perception when it comes to must-sees in China. For Chinese, universities are often one of the top attractions and since tourism in China is largely geared towards domestic tourists, westerners just follow the advice since this university will always pop up as one of the main... I like their traditional buildings and whole environment of this university. May be it is very very close to the sea, it also gives me the feeling of freedom and comfortable. It is very relaxing when you wander the campus. There is also a famous interesting tunnel which is full of drawing and painting by the student. Don't miss it.

Oke, it's a nice area to stroll around, but what is there to do? Nothing much actually. Near the lake there is small coffeeshop, which serves great coffee and you sip it with a noce view of the lake.

As far as sights to see it was just ok. They have a beautiful pond on campus that is nice but that was all.

A nice stroll inside the entire campus, making me feel young once again. Brought back memories of university's day back then. Environment is calming and cohesive.. felt warmth and comfortable.

One if the nicest places in Xiamen to simply stroll around and relax. Occasionally it is busy, especially around the lake area, but it has never been "too busy" in my experience.

I spent 14 years in this University back in 1990s. When I returned it this May, I was almost shocked by its huge change. New buildings, new layout, disappearance of many structures, and even new design of compound. There is even the entrance control to avoid crowds of tourists who will easily bring extra noise and chaos to the students.... More

Very nice campus, but still a campus. There are tonnes of visitors and recently an entrance fee for non-students. Cheap eats near the student dorms.
