This is a nice university, quite big, with an interesting (long) tunnel and some coffee places at the end.

On our way to Xiamen University on a very crowded bus, we were very fortunate to meet a student who is currently studying urban planning there. Her English was simply superb very fluent, clear, and grammatically correct, and she said she picked it up mostly by speaking to foreigners she met and helped. She used her student ID to take... Visited the university on a Sunday afternoon for a stroll around the grounds. This is a beautiful area with pleasing architecture and pretty walks around the lake. The only negative was the volume of tourists however l never felt 'hemmed in' and the queue for entry moved quickly. Please note that tourists need to show their passport to enter.

Nice place to walk around as it has a nice garden and beautiful surrounding but better not visit on the weekend or on a holiday as you'll be with tons of people. If you're not local, pls ensure you have a passport or you can't get inside. It's also hard to take a taxi to go back, so better be... More

A lot of people visit Xiamen university. Actually it is one of Xiamen's top attractions. But to be honest, I do not fully understand why... If you are thinking about sending your kid (or yourself) to this campus, all right, but if you want a take a stroll there are plenty of places a lot more beautiful and interesting. The... More

According to Chinese national ranking this is the 5th best university campus in China. It's like a city: there are restaurants, dorms, a huge park, libraries, lake... Worth spending at least a couple of hours there. Don't forget to bring your passport as you need it to get in.

Visiting a university campus might seem a little strange and there isn't that much to do here. But it's a lovely campus with a nice lake and en route to the beach after you've visited the nearby temple. Worth a stroll!
