I never knew magellanic penguins hatched in burrows! It was amazing to see that whole field full of burrows and by each one - a couple of penguins... ! The only problem is that you must come in excursion - take a 2 hour trip by boat to get to the island and then two hours more to get back;... More

I really liked there! If you have some time, I suggest you to spend half day there. You will see so many cute penguins, and they are all so friendly! More

We flew into Punta Arenas on our way to Torres National park the first week of March. We decided to see the penguin colony on Isla Magdalena and as far as I could tell the main way to do this was through Comapa Tours, which launches the excursion from Punta Arenas. See the penguins at arm's length, in one of the largest colonies of sphenicus magelanicus. The sea lions are unreal and very wild. Be prepared for a very turbulent and choppy sea. You can see whales in a good day, but we didn't. More

Nice 2 hour boat trip to the island, the one hour on the island walking amoung thousands of penguins. Very nice and peaceful. More

It's amazing the quantity of penguins you can find and enjoy there. Navigation is not uncomfortable and it isn a good alternative depending on the weather. More

Big Island with lots of penguins waddling about, they are cool to see, but the Island is pretty gross- think of any place that has been inhabited expressly by birds for far too long. Still, you should go to see them! More

2 hours to get there, 1 hour at the island, 2 hours to get back, leaving at 5 pm but in the summer it is light until 11 am so not a problem, much better than the pinguinera More

the early morning trip is a speed boat and takes 35 minutes from port to island. the afternoon & evening take two hours (five hours in total). More
