The three days spent in and around Torres del Paine were some of the most amazing in my life. There is so much beautiful natural area to see - eagles and guanacos, nandues and foxes, not to mention glaciers and icebergs, majestic mountains and expanses like no other. I have already recommended a trip to Torres del Paine to many... more

We were in the Torres del Paine National Park and wanted to go horse riding. We managed to find a great little farm called Estancia Vista Paine where the family organised horse riding trips. Unfortunately we could only spare a few hours before our bus left but Gonzalo our gaucho guide picked us up from the park administration, we had... more

We used Punta Arenas as a base to go to Torres del Paine park. We stayed at the Diego de Almagro in Punta Arenas, good experience there, it is new and clean, and includes buffet breakfast. Rented a minivan, Mitsubishi Delika from Chetkar rent a car in Punta Arenas. The van did very well on dirt roads and around the... more

Although getting to this remote area of rugged, untamed wilderness and stunning natural beauty can be a feat in itself, you will find yourself richly rewarded. There are no words to describe the majestic, somewhat ominous looking granite towers of paine, which tear through the landscape and beckon you to explore them. The icy blue lakes, unique flora, glaciers, and... more

An incredible place to hike with great refugios, beautiful landscapes and flowers, breathtaking vistas and friendly fellow hikers. Don't miss the park when in the Patagonia and give it enough time to thoroughly explore. Don't be dissuaded by logistical arrangements that can be difficult - it is worth it in the end! more

The all day trip from Puerto Natales is well worth the day and it is not expensive. They stop before the park so you can buy a bag lunch, but I would strongly recommend getting things the day before in Puerto Natales and making lunch before you start the tour. And be prepared for strong winds as others have mentioned. more

We just got back from 4 nights/5 days at TDP national park. We booked our trip through Cascada travel, staying at their EcoCamp and one of the Park's Refugios. Primary reason for booking through this outfit was to not have to deal with logistics of transportation and we had heard that the hosterias and refugios were often booked up in... more

I was leary about going to Torres del Paine in the winter because I could find very little information before I left but I'm so glad I went anyway! I flew into Punta Arenas and rented a car to drive myself there. It took me about 4.5 hours but the roads were great. It's a nicely paved highway from Punta... more
