Yoyo had my friend and I catching waves in no time. Very very good teacher who goes out of his way to make tourists feel welcome. Would 100% recommend.

Going surfing with Yo-yo is the best thing to do in Arica. Just one session gets you into the water with the turtles, standing on a surfboard and connects you to Yo-yo who is generous with his sunscreen and local knowledge of Arica ( tons of food recommendations!). The first day I arrived groggy from an overnight bus and hesitantly... More

I had a phenomenal time learning to surf with Yoyo. He is an amazing guy and teacher. I ended up extending my trip in Arica to learn to surf and hang with the amazing people that gravitate to Yoyo. I would highly recommend learning to surf with Yoyo, he will make your time in Arica memorable. Thanks YoYo!!!

My fiancé and I learned how to surf with Yoyo for 9 days. This is not your typical "surf lesson" like in Hawaii, where they just push you into the wave and you try and stand up. Yoyo teaches you how to look at the waves. Find the spot to be in and then ride the waves. He is very... More

I read about Magic Chile on a chilean surfing blog, which called it "the best surfing school in Chile." It is a great school. Yoyo is a knowledgeable, patient, passionate teacher, and a fantastic storyteller. The surf spot we went to was just right for learning (unless, maybe, you have a phobia of jellyfish - the odd one floats past).... More

I stayed in Arica for some days and really enjoyed going surfing with Yoyo. It's really easy for beginners to learn surfing there and Yoyo is a great teacher!

We, a family with teen and pre-teens, visited Arica in the Chilean winter. But, Arica is a city of 'eternal spring', the wave was very inviting and Yoyo from Magic Chile greeted us with such warmth and enthusiasm that will throw away any coldness you can still find, if any. We came with no surfing experience at all and took... More

Magic Chile If you visit Arica and leave without calling Magic Chile Surf for a lesson, you haven't fully experienced Arica. Yoyo's mix of thoughtful, patient, and custom-fit guidance will guarantee an amazing day on the waves whether you're an experienced surfer or it's your first time paddling out. You'll also be sure to laugh a lot and learn about... More
