Went to Arica to just relax for a couple of days, ended up having such a good time! Sunny days hostel is a home away from home, and Yoyo, the awesome next door neighbour and surf teacher, will make your stay unforgettable. Great surf and great company. Make sure you get your surf on with Yoyo!

I got to Arica and ended up staying for almost a week. The first day of surfing was awesome because i could catch waves with Yoyo's help. It also gets frustrating when the waves seem too small, or you don't feel like you have the strength to paddle back out from the shore, but the reward is so worth it... More

We visited Chile with one goal in mind, to learn how to Surf. We decided to stay at Arica Unite Backpackers for a week near Chinchorro Beach. Our lovely hosts introduced us to their friendly neighbour, Yoyo. Yoyo is the definition of Surfing, "it's a way of life" as he would say. He knows when the Surf is good &... More

We were introduced to Yoyo by our lovely hostel owner Jenny from Arica Unite Backpackers. He showed what surfing in Arica is really about and we had the best time and experience with him. He was knowledgable, friendly, kind and the best host...and the hospitality was amazing. He's a really fun, interesting person with fantastic stories and will give you... More

Going surfing with Yoyo was one of the best things I did on my backpacking trip through South America. With him you will get so much more than just a normal surfing lesson, he shows you what the real surfing life is like. He's a great, experienced guy that knows a lot about surfing. On my first day of surfing... More

Yoyo had my friend and I catching waves in no time. Very very good teacher who goes out of his way to make tourists feel welcome. Would 100% recommend.

Going surfing with Yo-yo is the best thing to do in Arica. Just one session gets you into the water with the turtles, standing on a surfboard and connects you to Yo-yo who is generous with his sunscreen and local knowledge of Arica ( tons of food recommendations!). The first day I arrived groggy from an overnight bus and hesitantly... More

I had a phenomenal time learning to surf with Yoyo. He is an amazing guy and teacher. I ended up extending my trip in Arica to learn to surf and hang with the amazing people that gravitate to Yoyo. I would highly recommend learning to surf with Yoyo, he will make your time in Arica memorable. Thanks YoYo!!!
