The attraction is excellent and we had a good morning there. However our bus was late which is no fun when you've stood around for an hour at 0430. When it arrived it was a 40 seater coach! This was with turistour, who seem to be in it for the money, all other buses were around 16 seaters. The guide... More

Do not take a tourbus if you are by car in San Pedro de Atacama. You have to be careful but the road from Atacama to El Tatio is not worse than a lot of other roads in Chili. If you go by tourbus as we did you might be late and miss the sunrise, we arrived about 45 minutes... More

It is an amazing place but never buy anything from Teckara Tourism. The employee does not have professionalism. They forget the customers who have already paid and after make fool of the tourists. Motorists are sexist and unpleasant. Horrible company. If you want to have a good trip in Atacama, Do not buy anything from this agency or Peruvian lady... More

We had our own 4x4 and although the trip from San Pedro was not easy in the dark, it was doable without too much difficulty. Be aware of varying road conditions on the way though... The geysers are impressive at day break, wait for the red sunlight to break through and enjoy the spectacle from a quiet place. Best however... More

Had to get up really early for this one, and the trip up there was a bit bumpy, but we got some spectacular views once the sun began to peak over the mountains. Its quite impressive to see all the steam just raising out of the ground everywhere. As usual for this area, there is some spectacular scenery and views... More

Despite the very early start, freezing temperatures & long drive, it was well worth the effort to see these amazing geysers. Watching the sun come up over the surrounding hills was simply beautiful as was the wild life. A dip in the nearby hit springs was great, despite the hot bits. Take care with regard to altitude sickness as despite... More

This is one of those "unique places on Earthy" tours one can take while at Atacama. This area is apparently the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere and the third largest field in the world. But despite rumors, this is not the highest geyer field in the world. But this tour is by no means easy. The trip usually... More

You'll have to wake up at about 4 am in order to take a tour bus out to the geysers unless you have decent transportation. Negotiate with the tour companies for a good deal, at the end of the evening they are willing to give you a bargain in order to fill up the remaining seats for the next day.

It's sad to hear that some people have found this place disappointing. Judging from their reviews, it sounds as though they should've done more research before coming to San Pedro, like seriously... you're in the driest desert in the world, with high altitude and a high difference between the highest and lowest temperature everyday...if you come here, walk it off.... We signed up for a tour of El Tatio with a company in San Pedro de Atacama. The woman who signed us up failed to tell us it would be -10 degrees Celsius up the mountain at El Tatio and it would be around 4, 200 meters altitude. Awoken at 4:00am to depart we were completely unprepared, wearing thin clothing... More
