This is a small museum that is privately owned and is dedicated to distributing information about landmines and the harm that they can do. The owner, formally a member of the Khymer Rogue, became an expert at laying mines and is now one at finding and removing them. The museum contains just about every type of landmine that you can... more

This is a very small museum with some information about mines and a good compilation (video) of Aki Ra's work in demining around Cambodia. The museum used to be near Seam Reap but know is near Banteay Srei. So if you plan to visit this temple or the River of the Thousand Lingas, you can include the Land Museum in... more

I just returned from a month in Siem Reap. I've been working with Aki Ra for a while to help clear landmines in Cambodia and had the rare opportunity of visiting the new Museum and travelling with Aki Ra into the countryside to visit with some victims of landmines. The Museum houses Aki Ra's vast array of de-activated landmines and... more

Whilst the work done to help landmine victims and locate mines in Cambodia is wonderful, we found this museum to be uninformative and unstructured. We had hoped to learn so much more about the work going on and the current state of play in Cambodia, but it just appeared to state general opposition to landmines world wide. Rather short of... more

I went to the Land Mine Museum in February of 2006 when they are at their old location. We had a young boy who had a limb missing from stepping on a land mine give us a tour. He knew the names of all of the different types of land mines and did a fantastic job as tour guide. He... more

The land mine museum has shifted to a bigger premises along the road to Bantay Srei. There is an entrace fee of $1 which goes to the good work that Aki Ra and his team is currently doing. This is the place to visit for the visitor to appreciate Cambodia beyond the usual touristy activities.. Highly recommended - i'm sure... more

Jus came back from Siem Reap, and was glad that I included the museum in my trip. The museum might be small, but the explaination of the landmines and the stories of the victims have been life enriching. Pls. note that the museum has shifted and is now situated to inside the Angkor park, and you will need the temple... more

You have to stop in at this museum before you leave Siem Reap! It is a hugely sobering experience. They have all the different types of landmines, posters with stories of people who have lost limbs to a landmine, as well as a deactivated test field. To correct the previous post, a donation of $2 will clear 3 mines (based... more

We have just returned from Siem Reap and I cannot recommend visiting this museum enough. As the previous reviews have mentioned, it is out of the way, and is really only accessible by taxi or car. Going by tuk tuk is an option but only for the brave hearted as it is a 10 minute drive down a very bumpy... more
