Been a dream come true to take on this trip. Am so glad that I did it before I am too old to take the long travelling in-between temples & the mental ability to remember all the temples (frankly after 2-3 temples, they all look the same if you don't remember the unique things to look out for). Must dos:... more

Enterance fees USD20 for 1 day or USD40 for 3 days. Choose the 3 days coz u need at least 2-4 days to finish the temples. Travel by tuk-tuk, cost about USD10-15/ day. Don't cycle as very tiring and weather is unpredictable (sunny and rains randomly). Take a tour guide if u want in depth knowlegde of the temples but... more

We only stayed in Siem Reap for 3 nights. We went to Angkor wat on our second day. We hired a tuk tuk driver for $12. I have been to Great wall and statue of liberty, personally I like Angkor wat and the other temples better. If you plan on going to Angkor wat, make sure you have 3 whole... more

We went to Siem Reap last year when it was a cool and wet season with frequent drizzling rain in late evening. The best time to visit Siem Reap is mid Nov-Feb when it’s cool and dry season but bear in mind that it will be very crowded with tourists too. (Mar-May: hot & dry, June-Aug: hot & wet, Sept-early... more

the temples were amazing and impressively unique from each other. even in the incredible heat of April, we kept moving from one to the other. our favorites were the ones a little further away: bantay srei, bantay samre, and beng mealea. we hired a driver (no guide) to take us out to those 3 which we were able to do... more

We only had one da yat Angkor Wat so we hired a guide recommended by a freind. While there are probably better guides who speak better English, I don't know how we could have done it without him. For about $50 you get a the guide and an air-conditioned taxi (don't take a tuk-tuk) for the day. We saw Angkor... more

You must spend three full days in Siem Reap to appreciate it all. I have great driver to recommend - Mr. Hok Nak - email: [----]. We used him three days plus airport drop off. Very thorough, agreeable, reasonable. You don't need a guide, just buy a knock-off copy of Michael Freeman's book Ancient Angkok in market for a few... more

All the hype and all the expectations are surpassed, Angkor Wat is simply stunning. Try and go in the early morning and late evening, during the day is totally useless as the heat is almost unbearable to appreciate what is before you. Preah Khan, Angkor Thom and the Bayon are also must sees! Just one tip: Skip the "Phnom Bakheng... more
