Our 7 year old and 2 year old loved this place. It's a great stop when you're feeling a little "templed out." Beautiful, lush garden area with lots of opportunities to see butterflies and other insects.

We were looking for something else to visit besides the temples and after reading several reviews we visited the butterfly centre. We arrived about half hour before opening by tuk-tuk, so our driver took us down the road to the local village market where we met some beautiful people & bought some beautiful hand crafts. The butterfly centre was one... More

If you take more than 10 minutes and stop whining about the price - I mean $4 for a community project isn't expensive !! Then you will see quite a lot. We had a knowledgable guide who showed us how they collect eggs, showed us the caterpillar rearing area and the pupa hatching cages. He told us about the different... More

After a long tuk tuk ride back from the waterfalls we stopped here and had a tour $4 each, we where taken around the butterfly's having each one explained to us and then shown the chrysalis and some that had emerged that day. We also had a look at the caterpillars and some huge stick insects. Take the time to... More

I had not heard of this place until I searched for more things to do other than the Angkor temples but I am so glad I found out about it. It was one of my favourites things about visiting Siem Reap and I cannot recommend it enough! It's way more than just butterflies, it's actually like a little oasis with... More

We asked our tour guide if we could visit the Butterfly Centre, which had not been a part of the itinerary. It was his first visit, too, and we were shown around by a very informative and knowledgeable young man. The butterflies and stick insects were fascinating. An excellent inclusion in a day's itinerary visiting Wats - it provides a... More

A great balance to temple viewing, the Butterfly Centre gives a very informative tour showing the life cycle of the butterflies and the chance to roam around the enclosed garden to spot the butterflies. It's not far from Banteay Srei temple, which is a trek in itself from Siem Reap, so its worth maximising the day by seeing as much... More

Watch where you step. This place is awash with butterflies, all happily living in a verdant garden of a variety of indigenous plants. Cherish the life here. Outside the sanctuary the butterflies and other wildlife are struggling to survive as illegal logging and timber smuggling devastates Cambodia's forests. Take your time on the trails. Look. Listen. Then look again. They... More
