We camped overnight on a driving trip through Omaha, and wish we had had more time. Hiking trails, a lodge, ranger-led activities, there were many things to do. The lodge offered free coffee in the morning! Each campsite has shade and shelter from the neighboring sites, and an on-site guide living at the area. Quiet times were well-enforced, the showers... Poor customer service in the lodge. Cabins were absolutely filthy! The bathroom was disgusting. Some family members staying in another cabin had a dead mouse that had been there for quite some time and the smell was terrible . Mouse droppings all over their kitchen......dog food in the couch cushions. I would not recommend anyone stay there until they make... More

We rented two cabins for our Christmas and was very disappointed. We had to clean before we could even set up. The second night it smelled so bad in kitchen behind locked cabinets ...dead mouse!!!! We had dog food under cushions that mice carried and believe it or not had one carry a hearing aid a couple of feet. It... More

I grew up visiting Mahoney on at least a yearly basis as part of family or group activities and as an adult I've created many special memories there including birthdays, weddings, reunions, and even my own engagement. Over the years I have enjoyed the fishing, paddle boats, crafts, camping, cabins, lodge rooms, water park (with wave pool, large slides, big... More

A great place to stay for short or long stays. Lots of attraction (horse back, pool, tennis, hiking, etc) on site. No need to leave the reservation, just relax and enjoy the grounds. As of 2015 tennis courts need to be resurfaced. The lodge and restaurant are very clean with great service.

This is a wonderful place to bring your family. With so many things to do and a great location, your kids will forget what a device is.

I have stayed @ Mahoney many times in the past BUT this past weekend one member of our group discovered BEDBUGS in his room and had to leave. We had no response from staff or superintendent about a refund or blocking off this bug infested room to protect others. I recommend you stay away from the lodge unless you like... More

My husband and I rented a cabin for Valentine's day and our belated anniversary and was so relaxing and very peaceful we enjoyed the whole time we stayed there it even snowed one day while we were there and had a nice fire going in the fireplace in the cabin.

There is a $5 day pass, but there is so much to see and do here, very nice walking/hiking trails, disc golf, a tower that overlooks the valley below, you can see for miles! Very well manicured and taken care of, clean, stream runs thru the park and the walking trail has nice bridges that cross it several times, very... More

In Minnesota our state parks are nature oriented with hiking, biking, camping and canoeing on the top of most people's list. This state Park however had an ice rink, miniature golf course, theater, 2 playgrounds, and cabins the size of a starter home. There is even a water park. There is definitely a lot for a family to enjoy but... More
