The zoo is always a great place to take the kids. There is lots of outdoor exhibits but also plenty to do inside during the winter months. The best part of the MN zoo is the dolpin show. It is always a good idea to pack your own lunch to save a little bit of money. make sure you bring... more

We had free passes through the library. Monorail was reasonably priced. Crowds were light due to the cool fall weather and cloudy skies. Our son particularly liked the aquarium area and "dolphins." I have a preference for the Milwaukee and Portland Zoos, but this was good. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. more

I spent most of a day at the Minnesota Zoo during Labor Day Weekend ’09 with my wife and daughter. There isn’t much I can say about the zoo that hasn’t already been said in the other reviews. We loved it. We’ve been to several zoos in the Midwest and this one is just the right size. Not too huge... more

This is our second year with a year pass to the Minnesota Zoo. If you plan on taking your family more than once a year it is definitely worth it because it covers parking too, and the total cost would easily surpass that a second time. We try to go on Monday and Tuesday morning/afternoon when it is less crowded.... more

Prior to leaving for Minnesota I’d explored our options for getting to the MN Zoo in Apple Valley. The cheapest (though longest) option would be to take the hotel shuttle to the MOA and then take the MVTA #440 bus to the zoo. Note: the bus only runs Monday to Saturday. Instead we chose to take a cab for the... more

We had the great experience to be invited to the opening of the Minnesota Zoo's newest Exhibit, Russia's Grizzly Coast, early this summer. It had been a long time since I had been to this zoo and I was very impressed by the work that had been done. The new sculpture in the central court has a fountain that is... more

Make sure you find a coupon first as it did seem a bit pricey. Very pretty setting and lots of green with the animals in natural settings. Drawback is you may do quite a bit of walking without seeing any animals. Larger zoo....and spread out so we missed entire sections of it as our younger children gave out. Enjoyed the... more

Not that many animals to view for such an expensive, and large zoo. I've seen many tigers, lions, wolves, and monkeys at other zoos across the country. I was disappointed that the cranes weren't out. My biggest disappointment was not being able to see the zoo's bird show. I was really looking forward to it and it was the main... more

I really enjoy going to the zoo even at the age I am but def was disppointed at the Minnesota Zoo. The price is about $12 a person. And if you want to experiencing the monorail an additional $3.50 per person. If you want to also go to the Omni theatre thats about another ooo like another $ 7 or... more

This was my favorite of all the zoos and animal exhibits I've visited so far. Care was taken to make the animal enclosures as close to possible as their natural habitat, and most had ample room. The only downside to this was that sometimes you could not get a close up look at the animals. Everything was clean and all... more
