Great Museum

Beautiful displays of boats and history of the Alexandria Lakes Area. The Gardens with the stream running through it are beautiful. The museum hosts great concerts in the summer.

This place has it all...history, beautiful and unique boats, fishing and resort memorabilia, a wonderful garden amid ponds with a stage where special musical events occur throughout the summer and even a special photography exhibit for the summer of 2015. Bring the kids too...there's a fun activity for them to do!

This museum is just wonderful. The boats, of course, are the main event, but the museum itself is just beautiful. And the grounds in the back of the museum are fantastic. I highly recommend this as a must-see stop if you are in the Alex area.

I was lucky enough to visit during my recent trip to Alexandria. Their amazing collection of gorgeous wood boats, the beautiful gardens and the warm, knowledgable staff... I was blown away. They also had a special exhibit by a MN photographer that was truly incredible. There is really something here for everyone to enjoy and it was definitely a highlight... More

We visited with a group while in Alexandria. Our guide was informative and the boats are amazing. A great stop. Don't forget the gardens outside.

Into to boats or not there's something of interest for everyone. The collection, from the modest fishing boat to the beautiful wooden inboards of the past, it's all there.

I get seasick easily so you might think a museum for boats would be of no interest, but that's not the case. Even if boats are only a passing interest to you, this museum has a lot to offer. There's a plethora of boats ranging from little skiffs to huge power boats. But it isn't about the size of the... More

A great place for a quiet date. My boyfriend loves boats so we decided to check it out. We both really enjoyed strolling around looking at everything. A great surprise was the garden in the back. It's absolutely beautiful, if we could we would stay there the whole day and just enjoy the view. I can see why people want... More
