A fun place to stop for a while

My wife is the wine person of the family, but I still had a very good time, tasted a lot of great wines and even bought a half dozen bottles to prepare for the Summer.

Went to the wine sampling event today (5/17/15), what a rip off. We spent $15 per person for 3 thimblefuls of wine and a skewer of tasteless chicken and a skewer of "antipasti" . So we decided to do the wine tasting for $7 each for the equivalent of not quite a glass of wine. If I were the owners... More

Thanks to Tammy and Kim for hosting grape growers and winemakers at their beautiful facility. They generously share their experience and professionalism as well as wine tasting! Real quality in Minnesota, you won't be disappointed.

Our pleasure! We've hosted this event for current and someday growers for 5 years now - but this is the first year we had such GORGEOUS weather to be out in the vineyard. Thanks so much for being a part of it and for your kind words. More

I visited on my birthday and did a wine tasting. We ended up not even finishing the samples we had purchased...they were all kool-aid sweet and syrupy. Wine is overpriced but the grounds are beautiful to sit and enjoy. Just so-so.

Hello, Thank you for spending your birthday with us! I wish things had gone better. We have wines that range from very sweet (Ice Wine, Port, Hot Dish Red) to bone dry (Cabernet, Chardonnay, Petite Amie, Trinity, Vintner's) to in-between (Wobegon, Apple Blue, Cuvee). I am sorry if our tasting staff did not recommend dryer wines whey they saw that... More

(Note: It's actually been several years since I worked in Alexandria and had the chance to tour Carlos Creek, but the online form doesn't allow me to select an earlier date…so take that with a grain of salt.) Carlos Creek produces decent-quality wines from cold-weather grapes. You just need to remember that this is not Bordeaux or the Napa Valley;... More

Carlos Creek Winery is a fun spot for family and friends to gather and relax. The grounds that the winery is set on are outstanding. You can visit the horse stable or listen to some fantastic local music outside while you drink thier fantastic flavors of wine. Our friends from southern MN make this a must trip everytime they come... More

Management and staff fail to convey any warm and fuzzy feelings towards customers. The wines are sub par and grossly overpriced. All zeros.

Dear Lee, I am so sorry you had a bad experience at our winery. Our staff works hard to provide a positive and fun environment for every customer, but it looks like we missed the mark when you visited. I'd love for you to return and give us another shot at it! As far as our wines go, wine tastes... More

My husband and I decided to take a road trip today. It was 6 degrees when we left home. We live 2 hours away from this winery. We both have the Minnesota Winery Passport which entitles us to a free wine tasting and a souvenir wine goblet to take home. This winery was voted the "Best in the state" on... More

We have been here twice and impressed both times. They offer both wine tasting and tours in a non stuffy environment. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. $7 gets you 5 wine samples and a glass to take home. They also have sodas for any non-drinkers in your party. During the summer they have a small restaurant but offer snacks... More

WOW! What a great review. I am honored and affirmed that the hard work our staff does to create a wonderful experience and quality wines is hitting the mark with those that matter most - customers like yourself. Please visit us again and thanks for choosing Alexandria. More

What a great time we had at the Carlos Creek Winery. The staff was so helpful, informative, and friendly! We learned more from this winery tour than we did from the tour we took down in Branson, MO. Definitely spend the $7 for the wine tasting--not only do you narrow down your favorite before buying some bottles, but you also... More
