Worth a look when the repairs and scaffolding have been removed. We visited a few years ago in the snow and took really cool pictures. Unfortunately we could only see half of the statue due to repairs. But worth a visit.

LOVE BIG OLE - and always will! One of the best Roadside Attractions and Americana! He was being re-painted/fixed but still had to bring all of our summer visitors to have their picture taken with him. The Runestone Museum across the street explains the history behind him. He was at the entrance to the State of Minnesota exhibit at the... More

This statue is being restored, as it was in some disrepair, but not that bad. Anyone who is interested in Viking history would enjoy seeing this statue which sits out on the main street across from the Runestone Museum. The park area around it is well maintained. A nice little stop when you are in the area.

This is right across the street from the rune stone museum. Currently it is being painted so it is hard to get a good photo. If you are in the area worth a selfie. It is located in a nice park on the lake.

Although Big Ole is a bit corny, it's still an icon that's well known in this area. Minnesota has many large statues in smaller towns across the state, and you can usually find a tourist or two taking photos. Ole is getting a much needed refurbishing this Summer which most probably has caused some disappointment, but we're told when it's... More

Kids were excited to see the statue. It is under construction and restoration. We're still able to get decent pictures. Something to talk about for years to come.

I love traveling MN, because about every other town has a giant statue of some sort that puts them on the map. Big Ole has some interesting history behind him and this town, which makes it an extra interesting stop. He's a huge, impressive figure, great for photo ops, however, as we visited in July 2015, there was orange fence... More

We have been coming up here since I was a baby and for as long as I can remember Ole has been an iconic figure of the area to me and now my nephews see it as the same. To most he is just a statue but to me and my family he is a staple of the region and... More

What could be a very neat statue is located in a at the end of the main street. It was being worked on so I hope they do something with the landscaping which might help the location where he stands.
