Our family did the 2-3 hour kayaking trip which included the Cascade falls. The falls are small. Big enough that they can tip you if you don't go down pretty straight but having said that, it's very easy to line your kayak up. There were 3 in our group and no one tipped over. This was a lot of fun!... More

There is a food counter inside the canoe livery office. This is a great little place for fresh brewed coffee and Zingerman's baked goods. If you go early in the day (they open at 9 am daily in the summer) you can sit outside in the shade under an umbrella on the terrace near the Huron River and watch the... More

The rates are very reasonable. The workers helpful. The exit out of the livery can be crowded but once you get to open water there are so many good directions to go and get pit away from the crowd. The warmer the weather the bigger the crowd. Kayaking, canoeing, paddle boats all available. They have life vests for you and... More

Went here for kayaking lessons because I've never kayaked before and we were planning a kayak trip with the kids. So i thought I'd try some lessons and I'm so glad i did! The staff was really amazing and professional. They go through everything from safety and what you should wear and the different types of kayaks. Out in the... More

It was a crummy day and we arrived early. When we got back, about 50 people were waiting in line for kayak vans. It's beautiful! My daughter and I just paddle boated for and hour. My husband and son kayaked. It was a lot of fun!!!

My two teen age daughters and I kayaked the Barton to Gallup trip over the Memorial Day weekend. It took us nearly three hours to complete. The water level is quite low for this time of the year, which doesn't bode well for late summer trips when the water level will be even lower. The beginning mile and a half... More

It's amazing to me that you can rent kayaks and canoes right in the heart of Gallup Park and Argo Park and spend some time on the beautiful Huron River. You can choose to paddle right around the livery at Gallup in very calm water, or you can go on one of the river trips. We like the one that... More

Came across the park somewhat by accident. We were looking for another location. Turns out it was a nice place to walk and bicycle. We did not take advantage of the water, but lots of folks were tubing, boating, and kayaking. Lots of weeds in the waterway, but it didn't seem to deter participants. No fee to enter the park.... Went for the first time last week and had an overall GREAT experience! Professional and friendly staff, prices were fair. Park at Gallup and they drive you up river (in my opinion this is better than the reverse option of going in the van ride wet back to your car.) Plenty of room for cooler on kayaks. They are flexible... More

So my husband and I have been wanting to go kayaking for awhile, but thought there was no way we could do it with our two year old. Well turns out, they do. We went out on a Monday evening and had a blast. You can get two hrs in 3 miles of still-water kayaking for $18! It was a... More
