The Detroit area is blessed with an extraordinary series of parks along the Clinton and Huron rivers; together they nearly bracket Detroit, so that most residents of Southeast Michigan are within fifteen minutes drive of one. The Hudson Mills Metropark is one of the very best. I usually go there to walk, especially on Sundays when, during the season, the... More

I bike the Border to Border trail that starts at Hudson Mills and goes all the way to the town of Dexter. It is a wondeful ride with no traffic and just nature! I would say have is tree covered. The ride is fairly flat with some challenging areas. We usually stop in Dexter for lunch and a rest and... More

Another old stomping ground in my neighborhood from time gone past. It's where I went with my parents to picnic for the day, and where I went to raft the river as a teenager. A great place to spend the day with especially nice playground equipment for the little ones.

A great place for picnics, kayaking, walking, or playing outdoor games. Alaways well maintained, and hold many different events for the public.

My kids and I spent a few hours here, walking the trails, geocaching and on the awesome playground. Lots of park police presence. Make sure you have a metro park pass, which is not the same as the recreation passport. The metro pass is $30 or $7 a day.

Hudson Mills is one of many fabulous metro parks in the area. This one has a paved trail over the river and through the woods for walking, jogging, biking, roller-blading. Nice to have a picnic by the river. Excellent playground for young children. We loved it when our kids were little for a full day of activity.

Beautiful fall colors, a river, rolling hills. Love it. Very pretty, easily accessible for all and a great place to go and get away from it all. Great Fireworks display in the summer.
