My granddaughter (with little prior baking experience) brought home a crusty baguette, a quiche Lorraine & rich chocolate brownies during her first two days at Zingerman's baking camp. Two more days remain and I can't wait to sample what follows!

Register very early. That's the most important secret here. The Bakehouse classes fill very early, and I do mean fill. Teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. You learn great techniques and about great ingredients, and understand why things are more expensive at Zingerman's. You will leave with boxes full of food. I've never met anyone who didn't love these classes.

A great way to bake without the mess. I enjoy going every month. The class is limited to 12 people or less.

Everyone who visits Ann Arbor should register for a bake class at Zingerman's Bakehouse. Zingerman's began teaching bake classes almost 10 years ago that were predominantly centered around baking bread. Their schedule has now expanded to include sweet and savory pastries and pies, cakes, cookies, and other specialties from cakes to famous Zingerman's brownies to pizza. In addition, there is... I gifted a pie baking class--Pies 3.14 (for us to take together) to my husband for his birthday. We had an amazing time! Instructors were just great. The class is appropriate for anyone, regardless of skill level. We got to make 3 different kinds of pies, sample them, and take lots of food home (along with recipes and tips for... More

My wife & I really enjoy taking these cooking classes and come away learning a lot. Our latest class was on making Bahn Mi sandwiches, which if you've never had one you're missing out. We learned how to quick pickle vegetables and cure, then bake, pork belly. The classes are fun and very organized, the staff is extremely friendly, and... More

Husband and I attended two baking classes, one on March 13 and 14 -- brownies and croissants. They were both awesome! We made four different kinds of brownies and three different kinds of croissants. We sampled each of our creations in class -- and came home with plenty. The classes are small -- 10-12 ppl. The setting is casual. The... More

I attended the Boston Cream Pie bake class with my fiance's mother and his sister. It was a surprise planned for us by my fiance and we had no idea where we were going until we reached the destination. It is located in a warehouse area by the airport so it looks very unsuspecting. However, once you turn the corner,... More

We are from central Indiana and this is our 3rd year coming to classes at Zingerman's. The facilities are top notch. Classes are very well organized and we love how we get to make our own and then have all of it to take home. Instructors have been wonderful as well. There are so many good classes to choose from... Taking classes here is such a wonderful time. The instruction is excellent and fun. I have been baking for decades, but I still learn new techniques every time I come here for a class. You will leave with more food than you can possibly eat (the products of your labor during the day), a stack of great recipes, and very... More
