We have been to The Ark probably 15 times. We live in Ontario and they always have the genre of music we love. Comfortable seating. Great reserved seats. Wonderful volunteer staff and it all is for a good cause. The room has a wonderful sound and I know the performers love playing here. Keep up the good work and a... More

I've been going to the Ark for nearly 20 years, making a 1-hour drive each way to get there. This is one of the best folk music venues in the country. It's upstairs in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, surrounded by lots of great restaurants and bars, a perfect end of the night destination after a nice dinner. It's... More

What a great venue. It is small and comfortable and a throwback to years ago. Primarily it is open seating unless you purchased one of the few appointed seats. We sat off to the side; there is a wood rail/shelf to set drinks and popcorn. This is a non-profit, if you want liquor, you need to stand in line and... More

This is a great music hall, run largely by volunteers. No seat is very far from the stage, and the acoustics were great. Most of the volunteers were quite helpful, although the man at the membership desk was inexplicably grumpy. The only other problem is that the rows are too narrow, so for a person to get up to use... When in Ann Arbor, try and pay a visit to this cosy theatre. If only to view the black & white photos lining the corridors of previous performers-some famous -& some not so. Enjoyed Blue grass band here, friendly bar. Charitable enterprise.

Fantastic and intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house. Excellent, clean sound. Feels like the performer is in your (large) living room. Volunteers help make it a special experience.

I went to The Ark to see Dar Williams, not really knowing anything about the venue, and then I but I soon learned that it was a very well-known location. I love seeing shows in smaller venues like this, where there is hardly a bad seat in the house. The sound was great, and Dar and Mouths of Babes were... More

While it is tough to rate a performance space independently of which performers are involved, I like The Ark for its mostly intimate space and solid selection of both touring and local performers. Some of the best shows I have seen there include Claire Lynch and Fred Eaglesmith. Note you have to be a member to purchase libations, but membership... More

Fabulous place. Very intimate setting, good wine & popcorn. A rare and unusual experience with world class entertainers. Exceptional. Be sure to get a ticket (incredibly reasonable) and take a chance on an act you have never heard of! Lovely place...2 thumbs up!

Great place to enjoy a concert having the unique experience of being very close to the artists. All seats offer good view.
