An Ann Arbor classic institution! The Ark features individual entertainers and groups from top-tier national headliners to local favorites. Check out the schedule on the Ark's website. We are Ann Arbor residents and have attended the Ark's performances for many years.

The Ark is a smaller venue ( I believe just under 400 seats ) therefore it creates a nice intimate setting for the evenings entertainment. The sound system is superb. They serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks although one person in your party must have a membership in order to get the alcoholic beverages. Membership is $5. The staff are all... More

This is the one place in the area that you'll have the chance to see world class musical acts in a truly intimate setting. Recommend checking out their events schedule and purchasing tickets as soon as you come across something that appeals to you as they often sell out quickly.

If an artist that you like happens to be playing here, this is a great spot to see them. I was at the Mary Fahl (formerly of October Project) concert recently. She has one of the most incredible voices and it would've been a dream to be able to see her from a front row seat. Well, the dream came... More

The Ark has never disappointed me. It's smaller and easy going. It's a place where you can sit in a chair in the front row and rest your feet on the stage. The friendly audience was a nice mix of all ages. We weren't members but a kind person who was offered to help us buy our drinks, otherwise there's... More

I visited the Ark for the first time to see Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin and the Guilty ones. I had seen them before in a much larger space without near the quality acoustics found at the Ark. It was a great concert experience. My only complaints have to do with the popularity of the group and the resulting crowd.... More

What a treat! Great, independent music and a really awesome environment. The theater is set-up so that everyone has a good seat. It is intimate. The seating is comfortable. They take good care of you. They have snacks, drinks of all kind (bar and cafe), and it is a very comfortable environment. It is fun to watch people here, too.... More

Intimate venue for music performances. We attended Loudon Wainwright III concert in October. Only drawback was waiting in line in the cold wind for a GA seat. Generally affordable pricing. I bought tickets by phone and picked up tickets the night of the show. If I lived here, I'd probably be an usher. Inexpensive popcorn is available. Line for alcohol... More

Right in the middle of Ann Arbor on Main Street is this unique concert venue that hosts a wide variety of acts from open mike nights to free concerts to national and international acts. There is not a bad seat in the house, and even for reserved seating shows, you are close to the artists and the crowd is always... More

I have been going to The Ark for acoustic music for many, many years. Every single artist I've seen mentions that it is one of their favorite venues. It is certainly one of mine. It is a very low key, intimate venue with about 400 seats (no standing), though sometimes they have a dance floor. The Ark is a non-profit... More
