The facility has strong research focus. In contrast, the Gerald R. Ford Museum (located about 2.5 hours west in Grand Rapids, Michigan - (616) 254-0400) takes a more vistor-friendly approach: promoting Ford's place in U.S. history (1974-77) through engaging and interactive exhibits and presentations. « less

This is a nice way to spend an afternoon with the family. We were really impressed with the amount of exhibits in this museum, many of them we could relate to since we were "alive" when Ford was president. Very nice show--short too, so kids don't get bored--at the beginning in a stately auditorium. Things to look for are pieces... More

A true presidential visit. Gerald and Mrs. Ford are buried in the hillside outside of the museum. I have visited when it first opened and again recently. It is much improved and very appopriate for teens and older. It sits along the banks of the beautiful Grand River. Be sure to visit the Amway Grand while you are there-a short... More

There is a ton of great stuff here if you like presidential memorabilia. But, best thing is the replica of the Oval Office at the time Ford was President. If you can't get into see the real thing...this is the next best thing because it's pretty much life-size and you see exactly what the Oval looks like. More

Enjoyed this small presidential museum. It is very small - quite limited compared to the other presidential museums we have visited (FDR, JFK and LBJ), but enjoyed it nonetheless. Especially liked the part of the exhibit about Betty Ford. More

The museum was excellent and though some people walked through quickly we spend 4 hour. There is an excessive amount of reading and you get tired of it by the time you get to the mid point. It is much larger than it appears. In addition, the reading is high up and after four hours we all had neck pain.... More
