Don't go unless you are local and are bored! Go after recent rainfall as the water quality deteriorates within a few days......dead dragon flies, dead birds, litter and general rubbish quickly builds up, all of which floats on the surface. But it gets flushed out each time there is a cloud burst overhead. Oh, and the dirt track that was... More

Good for paddling, not much water in summer so no swimming. Lots of walks and wadis in this area. Not too much graffiti or litter.

Wadi bashing was really fun with a hint of danger. The pools themselves are a must see. Youth jump from the cliffs. The water feels fantastic. Our kids caught frogs (and released). Bring water shoes, mats, whatever you need for a picnic. Where we were was very rustic. There were no amenities. The ride in was mountainous and majestic. It... More

First it is hard to trash if you don't know where to find it, but the border police were nice to guide is directions and landmark and we ended up arriving there. You need a 4x4 as there is a bit of off-road driving but the place is very nice. Unfortunate littering ruins a bit of the charm but it... More

I eventually found this place despite the total lack of sign posting. Do not need believe the garmin GPS either. Yes there is some unfortunate littering but it does not take away from the fact that this is a little oasis in a beautiful part of the world. The road in oman now is finished and absolutely beautiful. The water... More

We are trekking fans and this sight satisfies, moreover exceeds all our needs. We went on a weekday avoiding all crowds and most of the time we were on our own. Despite the critics here the sight was clean, there was even a large garbage box near the pools. The water is warm enough for bathing and having some jacuzzi... More

Made the trip out from Dubai from where its only a 1.5 hour drive. The place is actually quite beautiful but its made quite unpleasant by the behaviour of local Omanis and the Emiratis that cross the border for the day. I witnessed cutting of raw meat, bulding of fires, absurd amounts of pollution and just an overall disregard for... More

I have to agree with reviewers who were put off by the litter and filth at this beautiful springs in the mountains between Dubai and Oman. All the money in UAE can't buy a litter brigade to keep it clean? If you're traveling between Dubai and Oman anyway, stop by to see it. Otherwise, not worth the trek.

The wadis at Hatta are canyons in the foothills of the Hajar mountains. When it rains ( as it does sometimes!!!), water accumulates and these are the famous "Pools". A good road goes from the Hatta fort area to the wadis; if you want to drive in the river bed pebbly wadis, a 4WD is preferable. If you do not... More
