This is the nearest beach in Dubai and most locals will come here for beach volleyball or a stroll. But for tourists like me the beach if scorchingly hot during July-August.

If in Dubai,do visit the JBR as it is famously called to get to see various high end cars and the most happening young hip crowd zipping by you with ease and elan. The energy is contagious and the roadside eateries are full of character.

We went there in the morning and it was hot but the beach is so serene and very clean. It is well maintained and the ambiance is really ideal if you just want to relax and think or do some exercise. You can take picture with the Burj Al Arab and see some locals trying the Hoover board.Time well spent while... We went there at night after a visit to the Mall of the Emirates, and the view of the Burj Al Arab was simply fabulous. The lighting of the Burj was exemplary and the beach was quite safe and people were actually there.

At first sight this beach looks idea, however once the dust has settled certain flaws been to appear. Something about the sand does not feel right, its almost as if its been relayed or artificially brought it, just doesn't feel natural. In my opinion if you are already in Dubai by all means visit, but I would never recommend to... More

Staying in Jumeirah

Neighborhood Profile
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighborhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.
