We stayed across the street at the Arabian Courtyard hotel so obviously we had to hit the Dubai Museum. At 3 AED/person, the price can't be beat. It started off a bit shaky with the sparse outdoor displays in the center of the restored Al Fahidi Fort, but picked up steam once indoors underground. The museum has plenty to show,... more

The Museum is first class all the way – a video wall, quality dioramas, etc. But something seemed irrely strange. Finally, my wife hit the nail on the head when she said, “It’s interesting that they made a whole museum to a country that essentially has no history.” You know, she’s right. The museum was large on grandeur and image... more

As far as I know, this is the only museum in Dubai, besides the plenty of malls and other typical things to visit: soukh, mosques, etc. It covers the origin of Dubai and the life of its original inhabitants through the time, including nice scenes with Dubai's wildlife animals and Dubai's pearl divers (my favorite for its ambiance). The entry... more

This was a nice museum to walk around in, better than we expected. The Bastakiya conservation area is nearby and so is Dubai Creek, so you can visit those places as well. more

Dubai Museum is a small museum which I think is perfect for visitors to Dubai. It takes about an hour to visit (unless you love to go through museums in details) and you learn a great deal about the history and development of Dubai as a city from the 1960's up until today (perhaps a little outdated, but still not... more

My bf and I visited Dubai Museum on Dubai National Day (December 2, 2007) for the first time. The entrance fee to enter the museum at this time was 3 AED per person (quite cheap!). And once we entered and explored the museum, I was quite surprised that this museum was more than what I expected. Worth visiting because you... more

Dubai Museum is in the old part of Dubai, and is actually housed in the original fort that guarded the creek entrance. The museum can be seen in less than 1 hour, however there is more than enough attractions in the vicinity to fill an entire day. A good way to tour Dubai is on the Big Bus (bigbustours.com). It... more

Our first stop on arriving in Dubai gave a great insight into the past and present, putting our 2 week holiday in the UAE into perspective, making it more enjoyable and helping us make the most of the trip. Very unpretentious yet one of the best museums we've ever attended, and all for 45p each! This is a MUST DO... more

We caught the Big Bus (with commentary) from Waffi City and it stopped right outside the entrance to the museum. Even if you are not into history or culture you should nt miss this as it gives you a real insight to the rise of Dubai with various scenes through the ages and a short film. After half an hour... more

We went to the Dubai Museum to get a sense for the history and culture of the area, as the resort where we were staying could've been anywhere in the Western world. The musuem was the best option to accomplish this (though I'd also recommend the tour offered twice a week at the Jumerieh Mosque) but it needs some work,... more
