May not sail if there's a stiff breeze blowing!

I intended to catch the 11:00 hours boat from Al Ghubaiba/Dubai Creek to Dubai Marina on the 28/02/2015. The RTA (Dubai's public transport authority) ticket office is located just opposite the jetty but when I tried to buy one I was told I would be better catching the 13:00. I asked if the 11:00 was cancelled - no answer other... More

We took the silver tickets for 50 aed / person. The trip took 90 minutes, since there was some delay in the beginning due to the big ships leaving the port at the same time. You get a good view of the creek at the start and then along the way you can see the megalomaniac houses along the coast.... More

If you have time and would like to see a bit of dubai from the sea and also want to go to Bastakiya afterwards then it's nice way to get there from Dubai Marina area. 1. The trip takes 1 hour 2. The price is ok, though not really a deal at 50 dirhams a person, if you are a... More

I picked up the Dubai Ferry from Al Ghubaiba boat station at the end of Al Fahidi street in Bur Dubai. You can also catch it from the Marina Mall. I got the 1pm ferry trip that lasted 1.5 hours. It doesn’t stop anywhere en route. It’s great to see the skyline of Dubai though. I asked a few people... More

We jumped on the ferry as a last minute idea. It was a sunset cruise although we missed the sunset as the boat was late departing! We got nice views of the Dubai Marina, Palm and Burj al Arab. It was less than an hour and it was busy. We tried to do another the next day which went past... More

The ticket agent was disorganized and rather clueless, the views on a clear day unremarkable until we reach The Palm Jumeriah, and the very limited video commentary space. DO NOT buy a Gold ticket if you decide to go for the view because the windows in that section are notably smaller than in the Silver section. Overall I recommend that... More

We went from Dubai Marina to Al Gubaiba station at 11:00am. Queuing for ages, as they took so long in the ticket office ( you can only buy tickets in the office adjacent to the ferry). It had good views of the Dubai skyline and Burj Al Arab if you sit on the right hand seats as you enter. After... More

We took the ferry from the Creek near Bur Dubai to the Dubai Marina. We got great views of the Creek, harbour area, Dubai skyscraper skyline, Burj al Arab, Jumeirah Palm and the marina. Limited view of the World as there is nothing much to see of this yet. The sail took about 90 minutes and we spent much of... More

Took the RTA Dubai Ferry from Dubai Marina to the Old Creek, a great choice for any visitor. Luckily, the gold tickets had sold out because the silver tickets at 50dhs was pefect & great value on this 90 minute trip along the coastline. The ferry is very clean, & comfortable with good facilities offering hot drinks as well as... More

Staying in The Marina

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
