Every 30 minutes there is a fountain display accompanied by music and lights (after dark), you can stroll around the promenade or sit at one of the many cafes and restaurants.

not as good as Vegas, but pleasant addition to a shopping trip. Good to go and see once. Nice places to eat over looking the fountains

The shows run half hourly from 6pm and the style of music varies. Very cool to watch and you get the lights too when it is dark. If you are at or near the Dubai Mall, check it out! If you get to see it from the up the Burj Khalifa, even better!

Runs in the evening for approx. 10 mins or so repeated apparently - I just saw the first run. I was told it started at 6 so headed out just after 6 but in fact probably as days are getting a bit longer the first 'performance' is was more or less 7pm last week. But amazing and well worth seeing... More

My advice is to go and eat at one of the restaurants in souk Al Baha and you can eat and enjoy a few of the different songs that accompany the fountains. I suggest meat company

This is a must see when in Dubai! They are on every 30 minutes to any different song. If you want to get good photos or video you need to get there just after a show as people will leave and you can creep to the front. It does get very VERY busy! One huge bit of advice... When you... More

Must see, gets very busy in the evening, but defiantly worth the crowds and the heat. Great place to take photos with great atmosphere.

The fountain show is worth seeing, it starts at 6.30pm every night and is repeated every half hour till 10.00pm with each section a different theme.

The fountains were a lovely 5 minute show, no where as good as Las Vegas. I think they should prehaps leave them going on for a bit longer and not quite the same in the daytime as they are in the evening.

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
