This is a shopping mall that seems to be frequented by lots of locals. Small but pretty, with a few nice stores, a decent food court and play area for kids, it has some of the feel of the Venetian in Las Vegas (without the size of course).

Mercato tries to be based on an Italian theme - it works to some extent; the open piazzas with "street cafes" are a nice touch. It's a shopping experience!

It isn't the largest mall, nor a mall with great many entertainment options like the newer malls in Dubai. But this is still by far the best looking mall in town (barring the souks of course). This mall may not be the largest mall but it has an abundance of Character and well worth a visit! From the hot potatoe van to Pauls restuarant is a must to try with wonderful food and excellent service!

One of my best experiences in Dubai, a mall with Italian architecture, great design, not so big, lots of benches to sit and rest great shops, small but useful food court, great cinema and a nice starbucks shop. the virgin mega store was also great.

It is heralded as not a real souk but for westerners it is pretty real. My sister and I spent lots of money there and found many treasures to take home to Canada. Good, good shopping!!!1

The small is very small and it was cramped with too many people (too crowdy for the size) movies are outdated with limited choice for children.
