Most crowded address in Jeddah

If you have time, no car to park and really want something to shop then this us a perfect crowded market. LOL. Be aware shops bargain beyond expectations.

This is downtown at its best, as an expat you could think Saudi is all luxury and beaches but step back in time to see how the other half live. You can enjoy the souqs, shop and eat local food all very cheap.

More crowded, more dirty, more messy and more feeling like you are in true Asian market with lots of Asian, day by day. Rowdy young locals should behave a bit.

This is a market area where you can get most things - electrical, clothes, baggage etc. Its fairly typical new market - dont go expecting an Arabian Souq, but if you need something for the house or if (like me) you want a suitcase or travel bag, its fine.

I had been there for a evening stroll , where I found that old style shops & big market of gold market was worth visiting. The historical hajj rout is worth going through, the Al Dahb street is nice to walk, the shops which sells the chocolates and date sweets are very reasonable in price as compared to malls.

Balad is the historical part of Jeddah and it is an interesting place to visit as that is where all the old architecture can be found, but it's still quite dirty and unless there is a festival going on, there is not too much to do. There are loads of shops, but nothing much to buy except maybe cheap souvenirs.
