Local experience in the most unlocal of places

Enjoyed the herbal sauna here- it felt good to be amongst locals doing something "everyday" in Luang Prabang, which is quaint and lovely but about 90% foreign visitors. The sauna... read more

The girl I got was brilliant, she knew pressure points and just where to press and how deep, wasn't to hard and just good strong pressure. Free shower before and after if you want and free water and tea, Tip to the owners: tell the girls not to play noisily on their phones, nit spoils the ambience of the massage.

Went with my friend and had the head and shoulder massage witch turned out to be the worst massage ever. The girl who massaged me had no clue of what she was doing and constantly pressed really hard on my spine and my arms (had bruises afterwards) and had nothing to do with a head and shoulder massage! She was... More

Thanks for a wonderful foot massage! Me and my husband enjoy places that are used by locals. I loved the zen feeling with the dark wood interior, music and the delightful scent from the herbs. Just should have wished I had time for a steam bath!

This is not exactly a "traditional massage" place as advertised, if you know what I mean... The "masseuse" kept trying to touch me in unmassagy ways, which was not what I was there for. She only stopped when I left. On top of that, she wanted to charge me 40% more than what was announced!

I visited this sauna/massage place twice during my stay in Luang Prabang. The first visit went fine, I had a sauna and 30-minute massage. It was obvious the staff have not been trained in massage, but I enjoyed it anyway. The sauna is very good. The second time I went back (June 14), the owner, a man, encouraged me to... More

Enjoyed the herbal sauna here- it felt good to be amongst locals doing something "everyday" in Luang Prabang, which is quaint and lovely but about 90% foreign visitors. The sauna is totally basic, but still pleasantly set down an alley with foliage and soft music. When we arrived around opening at 4pm it was really chill. By 5, it was... More

Lemongrass is a great deal if you can get past the rustic facilities. It's all wooden, open air, and the facilities are all mixed-gender except for the two small herbal steam rooms. They give you basic cloths to wrap around yourself to attempt to cover up, but they end up getting pretty soaked from the steam/sweat, so it may not... More

I was referred to the place by our tour agency Jewel and couldn't be more happy. We came in December and it was chilly, so I was tired and cold in the evening. I came for lemongrass sauna and it was my personal paradise! :). I spent my evenings there before going to dinner to revive, heat up and relax... More

we came across the Lemongrass when we were wandering around and decided to give it a go. We were welcomed by the friendly owner who explained everything in English very well. Since it was hot enough for us, we decided to go for just a massage. It was a very well performed massage. The ladies who massaged us were a... More

Just off the main street, we used only the herbal steam room (10k kip) for the experience but not the massage. Interesting but bit odd lemongrass smell, maybe colored by heavy use. Experience depends on who else is in the room chattering away loudly. Changing and shower (pail and scooper) rudimentary
