If you appreciate architecture or not. The mark of Pakistani civilisation over the centuries is probably this magnificent building. If you are going to see anything in Lahore. This should be the number one thing. I have seen mosques in other muslim countries but this 4 century old one stands tall amongst most others, in particular because of its history.... more

I visited Badshahi Mosque with my husband, kids, and family on a rainy evening. We arrived there quite late at night when it was about to be closed. The Badshahi Masjid is gorgeous to see, there is no doubt about it. The incredibly size of the mosque itself is quite impressive. I visited the mosque during the day, but subsequently returned to the area in the evening and dined to Coco's, a nearby rooftop restaurant that has spectacular views of the mosque. I was in Pakistan from April to June, and Badshahi Mosque was one of the places I visited with my husband and father in law.
