be sure that the weather is good for a sunset. be aware that when you think you are at the top there are more levels to go ;) there are not clear signs to the top

The view of the city and surrounding lands is gorgeous, especially at sunset. Just make sure to build in plenty of time to get up to the top, if you're walking around the palace ground because they are bigger than they seem.

From the entrance at the bottom of the south side of Mandalay Hill there are paved steps all the way to the summit. Footware and socks must be either left at the bottom for a 200 kyat charge, or carried in a bag. The route is lined with stalls selling drinks, food and souvenirs. I walked up the hill, you better be in good shape as it is a challenge, a climb well worth it for all the pagodas, local people you run into. Once on top the views are great

Mandalay Hill the place good for sunset and top view for city of Mandalay. claim up by pickup truck have roof and good seat safe than by motor bike. good price at 500 kyat. the way from truck stop walk up to temple not so clean. many pee-poo from dog n cat on the way beside people sale the stuff... If you are a sunset person and love the city-view from the top of the hill, you are expecting to go to the right place. But be selective on the weather which quite depending.

Mandalay Hill is quite close from city centre , you can climb stairs from bottom of the hill, or just ask your transport bring you at higher station not too far from the top, shoes not permitted in all the temple and corridor vicinities. All along the stairs you'll find shop seller, with anything you can expect, the way up... More

This place is very romantic area for honey moon but it still are the holy area for play respect of the Budda religious.i would like to make the recommend for whom want to stay with their love one forever should come here.

Try climbing this hill in early evening for the sunset, and you will most likely end up in conversation with somebody or other.

The spot was nice and calm, quite a lot of people but not overcrowded. There is a camera fee of 1000 Kyats (1 dollar) for foreigners. It is a popular place for locals who want to practise their English, so especially if you travel alone, expect that you will have accompany soon ;) Nice place to relax after the whole... More
