as said above - it depends what your looking for but you will find all the usual items and be hassled to within an inch of your life
visited the medina in sousse with my wife and daughters.
traders have no manners.very rude and tried chatting up seducing my daughters who are only 13 years and 12 years.
they beg you to come into their shop and have a look.
but they wont let you get out again without buying.
they chase you down the street and call...

The fortress because of its obvious location provide a great view onto the city but this is all you will get really. However, do not miss a visit to the Archaeological Museum which is underground the kasbah where beautiful mosaics are on display dating of the roman period.
If you like to shop in hustle and bustle and enjoy bartering thia is the place to go, but be prepared to barter, its fun
If interested in mosaics then the museum has some of the best and are well presented. Spent pleasant afternoon here on our first afternoon in Sousse.
This newly refurbished museum has the most amazing collection of roman mosaics. The collection is small enough not to be overwhelming, and very well displayed in an underground hall. I imagine it is a lovely cool place to visit on a hot day.
The kasbah itself is interesting, and has some great views from the walls.

Its a beautiful corner of the world and it was great to say you have been. You do get hassled alot but you would expect that of a place such as this. I had a great time.
Went on our own.two ladies,it was an experience,!!!!!not too scary,and very enjoyable,good bargains to be had,barter hard.would recommend to do this when the sun isn't blazing down,as it is very enclosed and hot.loved the hustle and bustle of the local people.very busy so be alert.all in all a great trip for bargain hunters.
