The Corniche is a lovely street to stoll along, with a few different points to access the water, and plenty of stalls selling ice cream, corn, etc. Unfortunately, the very busy street means it's always noisy!

Beautiful shoreline, waters, and skyline. I was walking along here as a solo female traveler and also got quite a few catcalls as I went by in my culturally sensitive outfit, but I didn't let that detract from the views!

We were here in April, 2015. The weather was perfect! There are several coffee shops where you can sit and relax in front of the Mediterraneum. The sea looks beautiful, very blue. You can also admire the old French architecture of Alexandria. Although the buildings are for most part in bad shape, they tell the history of the city, a... More

Since my doctor advised me to walk and the weather was perfect, so I walked a lot enjoying the breeze & the sea, had Ice Cream and talked to people.

Alexandria used to be a place to experience a different kind of Egypt on the Mediterranean coast. Walking one evening with my husband and Egyptian friend was targeted for abuse by older men, despite being very modestly dressed, intended to make me feel uncomfortable. Nasty and unnecessary.

You may spend hours here simply admiring the myriad colours of the Mediterranean sea, while a gentle breeze sweeps across you. Definitely one of the most romantic coastlines, buzzing with activities. Located in the heart of Alexandria, close to all tourist attractions like the Great Library and the Quit-bay Fort, food joints, ample opportunities for photo-shoot.
