I've seen many wonderful buildings in Alexandria, but this one stands out a mile. The history behind this building is worth a Google search if you have the time. My only wish is that tourists could take a peek inside. I have been told that many years ago it was open to the public. Try and visit when it's sunset.

Seems like a love hate relationship. This historical site is probably hated for what it once stood for, but now loved for it's beauty and grandeur. Can't go beyond the gates, but the grounds and the building are magnificient. One of the many interesting features of Alexandria.

What a lovely spot to enjoy a lush garden with scenic views--no question why the former sultans picked this location. Our guide Ahmed from Ramses gave us all the history which enriched our visit.

This place has always been closed. It is a symbol of Alexandria, but nobody can visit it. The Palace is inside Montazah gardens, the most beautiful place in Alexandria and a must see for all tourists.

You cannot visit the castle itself, only the surrounding premises. Still a pretty sight and easy to take in with the nearby royal gardens.

The palace is beautiful ,looks like its made from Sand. Took pictures in front of it, not sure if one can go in; we only stopped for 30 mins. There were a beach you wouldn't want to swim in and many things to buy. Sellers are very pushie !
