Half way between cairo and alex, it is a must see. Be sure to buy the olives there as well. Visit the Pope's burial place behind the main church.

This monastery is not only beautifully built and carries a great spirit that will touch your heart with peace It's easy to understand how the Orthodox monks grow spiritually and give up the world and find God in the serenity of the desert Highly recommend a visit to this holy place

The monastry of Mar Mina is a good place to visit and spend some hours. The structure of the church reflected the orthodox coptic style. Also you can buy some gifts in a very cheap price.
