The view on the minaret is great. The cost a bit high though.

The Carol I Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque is special for its 47 meters minaret, from where every visitor for a symboilic fee can climb to the top and admire the city. Inside the mosque, there is also a big oriental carped, hand-made in Ada-Kaleh, whcih is more than 200 years old.

For sure the best attraction in Constanta. It has one of the oldest oriental carpets in Europe with a surface of 144 meters and weighing in at approx. 500 kg. If you visit this landmark you really have to climb the 140 steps (it is worth it) to the top of the mosque where you will be amazed by the... More

It offers you the best panorama view of Constanta if you are ready to climb the narrow footsteps to the top of the minaret tower.

Even if the mosque is small it is a gem. The outside part looks good and is well kept. The inside part is quite small, but totally worth the small entrance fee ( 5 RON / 2 RON for students) just to climb the stairs up the minaret. The view of the sea and of the houses in the old,... More

We visited the mosque of Constanta and climbed to the 140 steps to the top of the minaret and were very impressed with everything we saw and experienced. The view at the top gives a totally different perspective of Constanta that is worth seeing.

Beautiful integration of Neo Egyptian, Neo Romanian and Neo Byzantium architecture. It is the seat of the Mufti who is the spiritual leader of 55,000 Muslims. It has one of the largest Persian carpets in Europe weighing in at 1,080 lbs. Worth a visit especially timed for call to prayer.

There is a charge to go inside. When you enter you are able to walk around and do a self walking tour to learn about the history of the Mosque.
