We have installed easy to read informational plaques and a media room for our visitors. We are currently restoring the park, as well as renovating all the facilities. We are also preparing additional cultural events and entertainment for our visitors.Following the Castle’s change of ownership, director Narcis Ion remained with the Ministry of Culture, but has continued to be our valued advisor. We have welcomed a new group of managing directors: Lia Doru Trandafir, Corin Trandafir, and Alexandru Priscu. We are happy to receive every guest that comes to visit us.Welcome to our castle, our home.Sincerely,Dominic HabsburgMaria-Magdalena HolzhausenElisabeth Sandhofer « less

very interesting castle, but overcroweded. turist everywhere, a lot of souvenir stores... you have to move fast through the castle, because other people are coming and there is no space for everyone to look in peace as long as you wish. after all it was a very nice experience.

Well set out, good written signs in Romanian and English, and a good audio guide in choice of languages. Be prepared to CLIMB, sometimes in narrow and winding staircases. It was built in the 13th century, lived in as a residence through the 1940's. And I hear it is for sale...

It is interesting to visit the castle and learn about the history of its inhabitants, there are a lot of showrooms and information boards around. Sadly the whole place is totaly overcrowded with tourists and souvenir shops, there is a long cue at the entry and the narrow paths in the castle are totally clogged with people. I wouldn't visit... Hi it actually took me as long to get on the bus to Bran as it did to visit the Castle due to miss-information , so I thought I would post these directions. From the town centre bus station catch the 16, you may be told the 12 but they are not as frequent. Tickets can be bought from the... More

Been a big fan of Dracula movies all my life so this was a big thrill - even though I know it's just a story and I know as much that is known about Vlad III who really wasn't any worse than a lot of others in medieval times. Still I was keen to climb up the steep road to... More

Vlad Tepes did not live here. A very beautiful castle, but if you want the real thing it is about an hour and half away through the mountains near Curtea de Arges. Mountains are beautiful and a nice drive to see both from Bucharest.

I was looking forward to visiting this castle but it was a complete disappointment. We qued for a long time to buy our tickets despite a short que. When we finally entered it was full to the brim, we couldn't read any of the information displayed on the walls and all the tour groups had priority so we had to... More

I visited Bran Castle in August 2014 and the crowds seemed to have thinned. Nevertheless, this castle had more visitors than the others, save Peles, that I had just visited. I imagine that every visitor to Brasov or the local city will come here. Mostly, it's the (marketing) association it has with the fictional character Dracula. There are explanations of... More

The Bran Castle also known as "Dracula's Castle" is located in beautiful surroundings approximately 30 km far from city Brasov, in the village of Bran. The castle is all that you'd imagine from count Dracula: haunting and gorgeous at the same time. Visited in June 2012

Imposing though it may seem when you first look at it, especially if the weather is rather foggy, its interior is really disappointing, mostly to travellers who are experienced enough. With very few belongings of Dracula left in this building, like a bed, a chair with nails/ spikes and a couple of chandeliers this castle gives you the impression that... More
