We have installed easy to read informational plaques and a media room for our visitors. We are currently restoring the park, as well as renovating all the facilities. We are also preparing additional cultural events and entertainment for our visitors.Following the Castle’s change of ownership, director Narcis Ion remained with the Ministry of Culture, but has continued to be our valued advisor. We have welcomed a new group of managing directors: Lia Doru Trandafir, Corin Trandafir, and Alexandru Priscu. We are happy to receive every guest that comes to visit us.Welcome to our castle, our home.Sincerely,Dominic HabsburgMaria-Magdalena HolzhausenElisabeth Sandhofer « less

Although only tenuously linked with Dracula this castle is still worth a visit. We stopped on the way from Bucharest to Brasov. There is also a lot of history to this castle and the surroundings are pretty impressive. Inside, the rooms of the castle are explained there are the usual exhibits to see. Lots of tack shops outside to get... More

Overrated. Went inside, spent about 5 minutes, and left. Maybe my expectations were too high? Just kinda boring. From what I understand, there are much better castles strewn throughout this area of Romania. Check those out. I will say this area was cool from an environmental standpoint. Definitely wanted to hike around. People using GPS: the address displayed above is... More

The castle and vicinity are a great way to enjoy the real Romania and Transylvania. It's not too expensive either for the ticket to enter the castle (think it was 25RON). However there were loads of tourists around; made it difficult to pose at the right angle of the castle. Perhaps better to go during weekdays instead of weekends because... More

The castle is beautiful by atmosphere and view . It is overbid with Dracula legend and related dark stories. The purpose of castle was simply to watch and protect the Bran pass in the border of formally Transylvania and Tara Romaneasca and also to collect border taxes from traders.

Beautiful and atmospheric castle - original a fortress to protect This part of Transylvania, on a cliff on the border with Wallachia. When Abraham Stoker wrote Dracula he envisioned this castle being central. This has no connection with Vlad Tepes. The castle today is furnished as it was in the time of Queen Mary of Romania in the late 19... More

A nice attraction with some interesting literature and finds inside the castle! Smelt of polish where they clean it pretty regularly I'm guessing. An interesting historical place to visit.

It's a shame that this is marketed as Dracula's castle - it has little to do with Vlad Tepec, and still less to do with Dracula. But it is a lovely little castle and is worth visiting in its own right. It doesn't need vampire tat. We really liked the building itself, the interesting artefacts and information boards, and the... It was interesting learning about the history of Bran Castle but the information could've been displayed in a more interesting fashion. If they provided tours I think it could prove more intriguing. It'd be nice if there were a place you could get a nice view of the castle as well to snap a photo. All in all it's still... More

This castle is a place full of history. The fortress was started by the teutonic knights in 1205 and is looking good also today. The real story nothing to do with Dracula or Vlad Tepes. The kitsch is provided by a lot of sellers with their stalls full of souvenirs made in China.
