Built in the 19th C to join the 2 areas of the Old Town, the bridges of Liars attracts brides, tourists etc for one of the best photo opportunities in the city. It is rumoured that if you tell a lie while standing on the bridge, it will fall down. This is probably why every politician has refused to give... More

I don't know why this bridge is overrated. It's nothing more but a bridge with an interesting story, that's it. It's not as famous as it looks

I love the Liars bridge just as much as I love Sibiu. Best city in Romania and in the world for me. I highly recommending visiting.

The story of the bridge made us visit it, but it really wasn't that impressive for me. If you're in the area, you should check it though.

This bridge was smaller than I thought, but quite nice, like in a picture book.

The bridge itself is OK but nothing too great. It does make a good picture looking toward lower town which is worth walking round to see the real Sibiu, and I found the locals quite friendly. I think it used to be called liars' bridge as a lot of shady misdealings took place there along with broken marriage promises!

Another myth - if a married couple lie to each other while on the bridge it will collapse. Yes the lower town is not "attractive" it is real. It helps explain why Romania needs tourists. Most of their industry is gone. This country is poor and it shows from this bridge. People living in this city make 250-300€ / month.... More

Luckily there were few people around. The view toward the lower town is better than walking down there.

The myth of the bridge is that this is where they would bring liars to shame them in front of the entire town, back in medieval times. This is also the oldest cast iron bridge in Romania, and it's wonderfully designed. It also offers a great view of the Council Tower (Turnul Sfatului).

You are staying on the bridge and look into the lower town: You see rotten houses You are staying on the bridge and look into the upper town: You see the small market place overloaded with parking cars You are staying on the bridge and telling lies: Nothing happens. The legend is a lie. We where very disappointed by the... More
