Wonderful square

This is square is really special! Lot of restaurants, always crowded! Even at midnight. The bridge is quiet special also! Highly recommended

The buildings are beautiful, there are nice cafes and restaurants close by, nice souvenir shops, the Brukenthal Museum is right in the square (most valuable baroque museum in the country), chances are you might stumble upon a festival, fair or concert especially during the summer; the Sfatului Tower is a must see with stairs taking you to the upper levels... Right in the heart of historical Hermannstadt (the Saxon name for Sibiu - was a Saxon city till 1918). Surrounded by wonderful architecture - keep an eye out for the Sibiu eyes -- the eye shaped windows at the top of the buildings.

There are a lot of attractions, stores and restaurants off the square, so it is a good place to head for first thing. As a square, it is not terribly attractive, but it is the base for a lot of things to see.

Choose one of the many cafes, order a nice cool drink and watch the world go by. Admire the range of building and laugh at people playing in the fountain. There is a Billa toward the Piata Mica end of the square if you are looking to pick up snacks and the opposite end turns into the main shopping street... More
