It took me several attempts to get in here due to the religious holidays that were on during my visit, but it was worth the effort. The frescos are breathtaking

Some of the reviews on this page might be a little confusing! The Orthodox Cathedral is on Strada Mitropoliei, a few minutes stroll from the main Square (Piata Mare). The church in the main square is the Roman Catholic Parish Church. Both are equally beautiful, but in different ways. Visit also the Franciscan Church, tucked away down a quiet cobbled...

This biserca is located on the main square in Sibiu. It is another beautiful orthodox cathedral located in the center of large cities in Romania . The icon paintings are impressive.
So much to see and absorb simply by entering this building. An inspiring place to be that is frequented both by obvious tourists and devout worshippers, sharing the same space in a respectful silence. Many examples of Orthodox arts and furnishings and an altogether welcoming space inside. Outside, you can marvel at standing in the shadows of such a huge...

Blessings coming out with each breath, a monumental orthodox church, combining old with new, imposing by its biblical scenes, select paintings, warm hug from the saints on the walls. The sacred body of the archbishop Andrei Shaguna, a man of culture and a saint as well, awaiting at the entrance of the building. Great inner feeling, if you come here...

I wasn't so impressed about it becase I compared it with the Orthodox Cathedral from Timisoara.. This was a nice place too, but I felt someting was missing. I' not sure what....
A very beautiful eastern church. Actually, it's architecture it's a smaller replika of Saint Sofia in Istanbul. It is located on the same street/area with the lutheran, unitarian and catholic churches (a very nice example of religious tolerance).
Its architecture is inspired by Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The interior is very beautiful. A second cathedral has been recently built on Mihai Viteazu street. Worth visiting that one as well.
It is the biggest Orthodox church I have ever seen, bigger than some of he Russian ones. A real praying lace with lots of beautiful icons and character.
It is not a very old church, but is big and well decorated. When a concert is organized you may appreciate its acoustics.
