Its a nice park to go walking but when you have seen 4 buildings the others are the same: no people inside playing a rol neither explanations in front of every house, windmill or whatever building. It could be better with an explanation (not only title in the door) in every building or zone and of course with people dressed... More

Spent an enjoyable half day with 12 persons aged 6 to 74. All had a great time. Interesting and nice to walk through. At one of the houses a worker asked if we would like some explanations, and then spent about half an hour telling us about each of the house rooms, in an enjoyable and interesting manner. Just note... More

So great. Take half a day to visit this incredible place. Houses and homesteads from all over Romania. Nice restaurant also. Your photocamera makes overtime.

The Astra Village Museum is a fantastic way to learn about Romanian village life, get a lovely walk in nature and marvel at the dedication of the institution to gathering and reconstructing dying folkways. It is a truly immense gathering of buildings and each place is arranged to allow your imagination to run wild. My friend and I visited on... More

If you have time, this is for sure worth a visit. Allow yourself at least 1/2 a day to walk around as it is massive and you need time to experience and enjoy these quaint little villages. Well maintained, but don't expect to be able to walk into every little house. A great way to see traditional Romania houses/villages etc.

wonderful place where you can learn about the roots of the Romanian people, at least what concerns the traditional heritage. Price is more than affordable, the place is well maintained. Changed since my last visit 6 years ago, they added new elements. It shows that it is a serious project, with dedicated people and I hope it will continue to improve... More

Very beautiful open museum, especially if you lucky to visit it in a good weather conditions. Designed with a lot of wisdom. We were travelling with teenagers and they liked the zoo as well, which is just next to the Museum.

Amazing place to visit in Sibiu. You can "see" Romanian history in a few hours. The place is well maintained, there is also a rustic place to eat. For our kid this visit was extraordinary. I recommend to visit this place even if you are from Romania.

We rented the yellow city bikes (a couple of pounds for 24 hours) and road through the park and on the cycle lanes to get out to the outdoor museum complex. Really interesting, we spent a couple hours out there. The site is massive and you could easily spend a day there. Gives you a good overview of traditional houses... More
