You could easily spend a full day at Astra Museum, its like stepping back in time.. We also had very nice food in one of the restaurants in the complex.

We considered this visit one of the highlights of our trip to Romania, and, one that gave us insights into the rest of our visit (it was an early stop on our tour of Transylvania). We were staying across the street (in the Hilton) so we just walked over there. We enjoyed the walk as well. I am really glad... More

This park is vast, make sure you take insect repellent if you are visiting in the summer. I have added a photo of the bus timetable for returning to central Sibiu, make sure you have a return bus ticket as there was nowhere to buy a ticket at the bus stop. If not you could probably wave down a car... More

During our visit there is a food festival where the locals cooked and sell Romanian food. I liked that experience though its difficult to converse in buying food ticket or stub. Good thing there is one local willing to help us by asking someone to translate in their language. The museum is huge, with lots of old houses that were... More

You shouldn't miss this incredible outdoor museum! For a very reasonable price you get to walk through a lovely park filled with a variety of traditional Romanian homes, windmills, farmhouses. This place is just a few minutes from the Sibiu city center by car and well worth the short drive!

The museum with the largest area in Europe. Very impressive by its size and also, by the treasures it preserves. We always enjoy walking in the museum, no matter what the season is. When someone comes to Sibiu, this is my second choice after the city center. It is a pity to miss it.
